You know, looking at that last picture, I can see the appeal of cosplay to a young lad.  Nod

Congratulations!

Just to show the contrast, this morning's NPR news led with a story about the racial riots in St Louis, and followed that with a story on Norwegian police cracking down on drunken Segway drivers. That's at least two orders of magnitude difference on the relaxation scale! Very Happy

When I first saw that, I thought - "Wow, Forumshire's the number one relaxation place on Earth?!"

Still under-appreciated and misunderstood, I see.

Perhaps one day we will receive the recognition we deserve. In the meantime, I suppose we'll have to be satisfied with #58th most popular Tolkien site. Razz

Just got back from the Great Minnesota Get-Together. It had been at least seven plus years since I had been, but this visit was the most fun I had ever had there. But I kinda felt guilty about having fun, this feeling kind of sunk in during the drive home.

I'll post some pictures later, probably tomorrow evening.

I like how some people really make the effort with their costumes, half the fun is in making them, the General Grievous was very good !! I should imagine the outfits do get a bit hot & steamy

The Jimmy Kimmel Show sent a reporter to Comic-Con and asked a lot of costumed people one question: "Have you ever worn your costume while having sex?" The answers were surprisingly varied Laughing

Is poutine the sauce on those chips? (by the way those look like proper chips, I approve- I thought Americans only had those horrible thin french fries?).

Cracing views from the tower too Bungo. Thumbs Up

I don't even know why they're called french fries, but it figures that they would be the antithesis of the british type of chip. Razz

That reminds me of what I think has been the problem with poutine: they overcook the fries. Maybe Canadians like it that way. Numbskulls. Should be golden brown, not dark brown, or they pick up a murky taste.

Yeah the dark clothed guys are the scariest thing a piper will see at Cowal Games- a judge!

And there is always tons for the kids- bouncy castls, loads of stalls, and there is big tent where the little uns get tales and songs.

And at the end of the day there are fireworks on the promenade, where there is also a fair-

Same games only 80 years ago (earliest footage I could find)-

Nice! That blast at the end of the fireworks was worthy of Gandalf. Wink

Was that a video you took then Petty? I saw that cheeky little girl's face the camera kept going back to and thought, "my goodness what a widespread birthmark!" ...before I realized it must have been facepaint!

No that was just a random vid from Youtube. I didnt take a camera with me.

And yeah facepainting is very popular at it, I was going to say, with the kids, but that excludes all the face painted drunk adults!
