London tall ship regatta has started today. Lots of different sails and masts going up and down the river. If anyone is interested I will bring my camera in and get some photos on Monday.

Re: Tales of Home [5]
Cool, I will get some on Monday then. Couple of BIG ones there. Will be good to see them with the sail unfurled!! Kind of helps to imagine what london was like a fee hundred years ago.... obviously ignoring that I am looking from a skyscraper!!

Re: Tales of Home [5]
Obviously pics of one place doesnt mean the entire state is like it, but is Wisconsin mainly a farming state? I once saw a poster which I think was for some kind of whisky made there.... but other than that I havent heard of any cities or people or anything to give me an idea what the state is all about.
Edit - actually, isnt Milwaukee there? I know that.

ooh what a lovely place! Its just like Dorothys farm from Wizard of Oz.
I can almost smell the flowers and hear the maize rustling in the breeze.

I covered Wisconsin quite thoroughly in the travel thread!

The only other thing you need to know is it's a bastion of conservatism surrounding the tower of liberalism which is the capital/college town of Madison. Which happens to have a totally kick-ass capital building. Busses run directly from Madison to Minneapolis without stopping anywhere in between.

Halfy.... I assumed the cows and cheese was kind of like me saying everyone from Yorkshire is a miner, from Norfolk has webbed feet and from Newcastle has their tits out (male and female)....

Apologies about this and the general quality of the pictures. I left my camera at home (alarm didnt go off so rushed in to get to work) so had to use my mobile. I filmed this clearly sideways and cant be arsed to turn it round. There is a little (like... really not actually a treat) treat in the middle... notice the name of the white boat...
Re: Tales of Home [5]
I shall have a go later a guessing the ship categories, just wanted to say nice pics Lance, and loving the vid- given they are tall ships shooting it that way actually works rather well (I wont spoil the treat by mentioning it, but warmed the heart, nice to know. Would it have a HMS before it or something I wonder?)
