Re: Tales of Home [4]
Well, we have certainly had a lot of rain over the last couple of years. We only had a decent summer lasty year as well actually. And my cousin used to do that too. Might have had something to do with his mother being head master.
Yeah, I wanted to see how it looked like. And the street view picture was quite spectacular so thought I'd share it.
It's quite fun going around to places on street view every now and then. I had a friend who lived a year in Australia for instance and he showed me his house on street view. And if you want too see... I don't know ... the Eiffel Tower and don't have the time. It can be good.
It's certainly a stunning place and so close to a big city as well. Your friend is very lucky.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
We're finally getting winter weather. It's because of this storm over in America apparently.

And it's snowing like ... something outside. So not complaining at the moment.
I would share a picture, but my camera doesn't seem to do snow.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
you really can't shut up about the weather, can you i have never talked this much weather until u arrived !
Re: Tales of Home [4]
Yeah. I don't think I would go on about it this much if it hadn't been this bad here so far this winter.
We did talk about it just yesterday as well, didn't we. Though I don't think I brought it up that time.
I don't think I'm that interested in the weather generally, but I like to have snow in winter. It's not really winter without it.

Still, if you look at the top of the last page you were busy discussing the weather with someone else. So maybe you're a little interested too.

Here in Chicago, it's negative 15 degrees Fahrenheit! I don't know what that is in Celsius, but schools have been cancelled everywhere and it was snowing the past four days! I've been locked in my house because of it! It hasn't been this cold in twenty years!!!!

It's certainly getting worse.

Chicago? I thought you were Canadian, but I suppose there's nothing stopping you from crossing borders.
(and surely you know how to convert! )

Re: Tales of Home [4]
Ive just seen weather conditions on the news about Minneapolis ! Holy snowballs Batman !! The reporter threw a cup of boiling water over his shoulder & it froze before it hit the street ! Back in Blighty, a village in the South West is surrounded by such severe flooding, they need a boat to get supplies in, And waves wrecked the promenade in Aber ystwyth, nearly flooding into Hotels !

Yeah, slightly obsessed. I never said I disagreed with you.
You say that like it's a bad thing however.
And there was nothing wrong with your posts, I was just pointing out that you talk about it too. Feel free to complement and answer away if I bring it up unprovoked again.

So Norc, the person at the sporting goods store who can help with bindings is gone till late week, so I'll have to wait on the skis. I'm considering snow shoes also. Thanks again for the motivation to get off my yankee duff and enjoy the outdoors around me.

Well, I'm impressed.
Best of luck Hillbilly. Find yourself a short rute and take it slow.
Us fjordlandians did most of our failing and falling at a young age. But I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.
It's one of my favourite things to do in winter actually.
