They're calling for "ice pellets" tomorrow. Hopefully it doesn't start too early in the morning...
Re: Tales of Home [4]
It's snowing. Properly.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
Yeah, I saw that. They actually showed it on the national news here. I think it was in Ålesund, if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
I meant to post this at the time, but forgot. Another video of a sliding bus in Tomsø:
http://www.vg.no/nyheter/innenriks/artikkel.php?artid=10074408
(Sorry to say the puritans at VG ( ) bleeped this one, Halfwise. At least you'll know where the bad words should have been on this one.)
And an article saying why it might be quite scary to be on one of those buses when they start to slide.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
Winter's here in the south east have been "odd" these last few years, not the guaranteed snowy ones of yesteryear. this is a corner of my little garden, still colorful in December ?!

Re: Tales of Home [4]
Omg, the bus I remember that, but i think that one is from last winter. Lots of busses has had problems in that hill...
Re: Tales of Home [4]
It's snowing, and layering, for the third time this week. We haven't had this much snow in almost four years (though we're not even close to February 2010 levels yet).
Re: Tales of Home [4]
It snowed where I lived once about 15 years ago

Re: Tales of Home [4]
And its not getting any better
"The Met Office said gusts could reach more than 80mph in some exposed areas as a storm sweeps past the country.
Yellow "be aware" warnings of high winds are in place for the Highlands, Western Isles, Orkney, Shetland and Argyll and Bute.
Large waves could result in flooding at high tide along the west coast.
"There remains some uncertainty as to the extent of the very strong winds.
However the public should be aware of the risk of further disruption to transport and other outdoor activities and are also advised to monitor the website for later updates.
On higher ground, wind speeds reached 102mph on the Applecross peninsula in Wester Ross and 111mph at Tomintoul in the Cairngorms National Park. "- BBC

Re: Tales of Home [4]
You do seem to share a lot of weather with the Norwegian west coast Petty.
He mostly says "Maybe it's just the friction. No, he's going to try again. Watch the wheels ... Ohohohoh. Yes, let's destroy another buss. Let's get the other one that's waiting as well. Yeahyeahyeah. Haha. There you go."
Norc might help you on filling in the bleeps.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
You're welcome, Azriel.
She certainly is. Also it's in her dialect, so I defer completely to her expertise.
Well, he's saying it a lot then.
Also I don't know why on earth they bleeped it. And the people at VG at that. It's such an American thing to do, it drives me up the wall.

no reason to bleep him actually.. Blue, you can do the translation.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
Oh, I wouldn't presume to translate "nordnorske kraftuttrykk."
I might not do them justice.
"Jævla idiot" og "steine tullat."
That certainly was rather tame. Why VG feels we would have to be protected fromthat is beyond me. Good to see the media around your parts at least have their priorities more straight.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
i think they bleeped it because he was being kinda harsh about the driver, that he shouldn't be allowed to drive and someone should take his license. i think it was more that rather than the swearwords. but i don't think VG should feel the need to protect this man who made the video, he should be able to stand by what he said..
Re: Tales of Home [4]
Yeah, I guess that's possible.
Though they didn't need to remove him calling the driver an idiot to remove him sayiing he should loose his licence. He might always have asked them to bleep it himself, I guess.
I just have a real dislike (irational or rational, whatever ones opinion might be) of this bleeping business in general.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
