Ah, ok. So it was more Havnabakken you recognized.
That's fine. I mentioned both so thought you might recognize it.

Don't worry about it.
Here's the picture from the same spot as the first one was taken.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
Well, the place of the other picture is about 5/10 minutes away along the road where that picture was taken.
Sorry if I go on about it a bit. I'm just a little facinated that you know something about the place I'm from.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
I would go on and on too if I met someone online from the town/neighborhood where I live. Hell, I go on about Baltimore with Halfy sometimes and I'm not even technically within the city limits.
Re: Tales of Home [3]
I feel I have said too much about where I live, but I am a bit paranoid.

True, that is a ever present danger. But you did at one point poste a map with an arrow.Pettytyrant101 wrote:I know what you both mean. Afterall there is only the North Sea between me and you Fjordians, you could invade at any time!
Between you and me; we are waiting for your independence, then the Brits will be pissed at you and won't come to your rescue. Kongeriket Skottland-Noreg.

Did I come across that way?Norc wrote:and you guys don't find it a tinsy bit scary?
If I did I'm genuinely sorry. It was certainly not my intention.
It was only a small point. I thought as you, Norc, said you recognized the other picture you might recognize that one.
Several of you have been quite open about the places you're from. This being such a tight knit community, I was mainly trying to join in and extend something of the same kind of courtesy.
As for my own privacy I can't say I care all that much. That might mainly be down to me not finding myself terribly interesting though, so I have some problems thinking anyone else would.
I wouldn't go as far as Jeremy Clarkson however, and publish my bank details in a national newspaper.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Outer_HebridesKnown as Suðreyar or southern islands in Old Norse. Norse control of the Hebrides was formalised in 1098 when Edgar of Scotland recognised the claim of Magnus III of Norway. The Scottish acceptance of Magnus III as King of the Isles came after the Norwegian king had conquered the Orkney Islands, the Hebrides and the Isle of Man in a swift campaign earlier the same year, directed against the local Norwegian leaders of the various islands. By capturing the islands Magnus III subdued the Norsemen who had seized the islands centuries earlier and imposed a more direct royal control. wrote:

As the money was never paid, the connection with the crown of Scotland has become perpetual. wrote:

The thing about trolls, the the very thing that makes them trolls, is their cowardice.
I welcome trolls to my front door, they can come and try being trollish at me in person if they like- I wouldn't if I were them, but then I know whats coming for them if any do
As soon as you alter anything you do, as soon as you become fearful, as you as you become hesitant about being yourself, the troll wins a little.
Thats not to say I encourage giving out all your personal details to anyone who asks, quite the opposite, but dont let them bother you either. They are just a trick of bad lighting.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
I don't think websites like this one are much to worry about. You should perhaps not put it all out, that's common sense I guess, but people who want to find out where you live, what your name is and how much your bank account is worth have the wonderful tool that is Facebook at their disposal. That's the thing you want to be careful around, much more so than a page mainly (or originally) meant for the discussion of a writer and the ecranisations of his books

Re: Tales of Home [3]
yeah.. i've basically come to accept the fact that if one really wants to dig up everything.. it's not that difficult though i wouldn't lead anyone to my front door unless they wanna send a birthday present

Haha, that does make me look a bit paranoid doesn't it.Norc wrote:u don't have to appologize for anything, i was just implying maybe you should be scared/worried i mean, this being the interwebz and all
Anyway, I'm glad. I think I would be a lot more worried if I had actually offended someone, than I would be over any fears about own privacy.
As you guys say the openness is fine, but one probably should have some limits. I think one of the great things about this place is that people are confident enough to be themselves and to share interesting things from their real life.
I should perhaps start taking that into consideration.Norc wrote: i am just teasing
Though I fear it might have dramatic effects on my post count.
