Somewhere in Fjordlandia today:
Sadly not here. We didn't even get the tiny amount that was forecast earlier in the week.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
Xmas arrives in my little town. The lights on the town tree were switched on, Father Christmas paid a visit in his sleigh, and the kids had a ball in the drizzle (it certainly didnt dampen their spirtis!)-

That looks nice, Petty.
So not very wintery. But at least we had some good weather.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
Sadly that comment seem most justified.
I did already threaten to move to Tromsø, but the weather doesn't seem to care much.
At least it's not raining.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
why do we keep talking about the weather?.... well... i guess since we have so much of it it kinda makes sense.. except u don't have much weather
Re: Tales of Home [3]
We do seem to don't we.
Though I will admit the weather is a complete obsession of mine at this time of year. Particularily when, as you say, we don't have any.
Maybe we're just very boring people?
No, that doesn't work. Because you certainly aren't. Maybe it's just me then.

whether the weather is cool or whether the weather is hot
We'll weather the weather, whatever the weather
Whether we like it or no.
(Learned this in.. 5th grade? Got stuck in my brain.)
20 minutes of weather in 20 seconds. Guess who's view it is?

Great!
I should be somewhat compassionate perhaps. They have to learn a lot more latin expressions than even me.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
It's just plain "Amarie" for those of us who are not so lucky as to have umlauts on our keyboards.
Re: Tales of Home [3]
yeah, but us who are so privileged to have them, me ought to use them right. that's über important.
Re: Tales of Home [3]
David used one on here. He hasn't admitted how yet.

I always thought there was something iffy about him. He lives in Cascadia; they've probably imported umlauts along with their other queer European ideas.

Though it's common for river valleys in moister climes to fill up with fog, it's a rare sight in the Grand Canyon, happening only about once a decade or so.

Re: Tales of Home [3]
Damn, those are some incredible photos. Barely even looks like the Grand Canyon in some of them.
Re: Tales of Home [3]
That would actually make a really cool hike coming back up from the bottom. I've walked through a temperature inversion layer like that when climbing a mountain. It feels like you're in a microwave as you approach the cloud surface, and then suddenly you're standing on a cloud.
