Re: Tales of Home [2]
Nice to know Eldo a bit of Forumshire rebellion was lurking under the robes!

i feel when i graduate i should post my picture too.. our uniform is less formal (to put it mildly)
whenever we take school photograph they put on like a blurry filter and the skin looks better.. dunno if i like it though.
I think you should go ahead and post it when you graduate. That's not a daily uniform though; the gown is only worn on formal academic occasions (so basically only graduation).

Well I was going to dress "properly" but I had done so the day before for a different ceremony and it was too bloody hot.

I actually dressed down significantly by not wearing business attire underneath the gown. I had shorts, a plain white t-shirt, and sandals on.
i would've dropped sandals but ok.

then what's the point of the gown ? but yeah, i'll update you when the time comes, a year left though we don't have gowns, but i might wear bunad or a nice dress
Re: Tales of Home [2]
Feeling you on the sandals comment norc. I really hope you didnt mix them with socks too... ?

I don't like wearing closed-toed shoes when I can avoid it and I'd already decided to dress casual so I said fuck it.
And I didn't mix them with socks, that's just wrong.

The gown is just what everyone wears on select occasions. It's sort of like a dress uniform for soldiers or cops, only the rules governing academic dress aren't nearly as strict.

Re: Tales of Home [2]
a wasp stung me on my toe today (no provocation it just crept on my foot and stung me, what the heck!) it was about 1.5 cm! and a mosquito stung me on my lip and it got swollen and shit. on the same day! what the bloody fuck (that i never want to experience) i mean WHAT! just what in the name of the lord have i done to deserve that?
Re: Tales of Home [2]
Damn, sorry to hear about that Norc. I got stung by a bee at summer camp once a long time ago and it traumatized me for years. I'm still not particularly fond of the little fuckers.
Hope you feel better soon!
Hope you feel better soon!
Re: Tales of Home [2]
feel better soon? i am a bloody viking, you idiot, the mosquito-bite was gone in around an hour and the wasp-sting was gone in like 15 minutes. chill out, i am hardcore, don't need no sympathies (though thanks )
i got stung by a wasp two times in less than 24 hours though. that's bad luck.

Makes me wish I was a Viking. I was a really wimpy kid.

Re: Tales of Home [2]
I think if I was stung by a wasp twice in 24 hours I would board up all my windows and refuse to go outside for a month.

you probably be ok though
{{{she says hopefully}}}
yeah, wasps are sneaky bastards, i did walk a bit more carefully afterwards and when i saw one i kept my distance
Re: Tales of Home [2]
Not sure if I have ever been stung. Bitten by a guniea pig not so long back. Those little shits have really sharp teeth!!!!
Re: Tales of Home [2]
yeah, i believe you. my sister got bitten by her rat, he had epilepsy so it was because he had a fit, mind you. i've been bitten by a dog. in the face. and one time in the hand.
Re: Tales of Home [2]
Dog teeth are made to munch big things and rely more or power (why they are more rounded).
Rodent teeth are for shaving and gnawing and are razor sharp.
Neither are pleasant!!!

Re: Tales of Home [2]
I once had a dog nip my hand because I didn't put the treat I was trying to feed him on the floor fast enough. That was before I lived with dogs on a regular basis.
My cat claws me all the time if he doesn't want to be held. I'm not sure if he realizes that it hurts without a coat of fur to protect me or if he just doesn't give a fuck. FWIW he can be a cuddlebug at other times.

that's not a well trained dog. but why would you feed a dog a treat on the floor?
and what is FWIW?
Re: Tales of Home [2]
Well I was gonna put it on the floor (maybe in a bowl, I don't remember). I didn't trust him to eat out of my hand since I knew he was poorly trained.
