There are lots of wild bees, but we also rent hives of bees for the weeks that the bogs are in full bloom. From here the bees go down to California for the almond orchards.

My grandfather kept bee hives for several years, but the bears always tried to destroy them in the winter. It's easier and cheaper just to rent them when we need them.

(More reckless than Snufkin you say, Norc? He jumped out a flying boat at 500 meters in the dream didn't he? I'd never do that! Rolling Eyes )

that's awesome and fascinating, about the bees ^^ maybe i'll take up bee-keeping on my old days.

keyword, dream Wink it was moomin's dream, although Snufkin doesn't like rules and wants to be free and travel, so i still stick to my opinion ^^

I have a thought, that the bag pipes were originally a ferocious, wild animal, so fierce & terrifying that their stare alone could make grown men wet themselves ! The screams of this horrific beast could be heard for many a mile, & on lonely, moonlit nights, when the wind whistled coldly over the moors & glens, one courageous, brave soul dared to face the beast & over power it, ensnaring the creature & binding it to a life of servitude, eternally encased in the tartan of the brave man that risked his life. only by elbowing the tartan bag & blowing down into the creatures sensitive ears do we get the Horrendous, demonic, screeching cries of a beast in infernal torment, doomed for all time,
I almost feel sad for it !
