Re: Tales of Home [2]
I just checked and we have the exact same temperature here today, but with 77% humidity. (I'm not too surprised given that it's rained for the past two days.)
Re: Tales of Home [2]
We're supposed to get up to about 20 today. Sunny with occasional clouds. The cranberries are in bloom and the bees are working overtime trying to pollinate them. Perfect!

Re: Tales of Home [2]
While on photobucket, here's a picture of me when I was half this age traveling on a freight train flatcar under a truck trailer (the cars are called "piggybacks")
It gets either really cold and windy or really hot and windy.
There's nothing in between.
(BTW can anybody with better search skills than me find my old story about falling off a train? I tried the other night but failed. )

Re: Tales of Home [2]
That's a great picture, Dave! My brother would be jealous; we have a lot of freight trains on the tracks half a mile from our house and he's always talking about wanting to jump on one.
NB It took a few minutes of poking on Google around but I found the falling of a train story.

Re: Tales of Home [2]
That picture of the blossoms is me playing with the closeup thingy on my camera. The flowers are less than a centimeter long.
Yes, traveling by freight was a great way to see the country. I still get the urge when I see a train rolling by.....
I hope somebody can find that story. It was in my first couple hundred posts, probably spring of 2012, and it probably included the town name Wenatchee. I couldn't figure out how to search back that far though.

Re: Tales of Home [2]
The forum's own search function isn't very good, but if you put "site:hobbitmovieforum.com" at the beginning or end of a Google search you can limit your results solely to pages from this forum.
I initially put in a bunch of keywords in a string till I found a thread where you mentioned the story and your buddy Dan, so I went back to the search page, added "Dan" to my list of keywords, and got back only three results, including the story.

Re: Tales of Home [2]
ok to clear my head after watching you know what on Game of Thrones, I went to my favourite strange garden. Its got a labrynth at the heart of it, but my camera ran out of battery power so i couldnt take lots of photos. The garden was made by the guy who wrote Pinocchio.

Re: Tales of Home [2]
No problem Dave, glad I could help out. It's a great story too, really fun to read.
Re: Tales of Home [2]
What a beautiful garden Mrs Figg!
After rereading my "falling off of train like an idiot" story I see that was what prompted you to tell your German Biker story
Here's the page link for anybody interesting in stories of when we were (ehem) less wise than we are now:

thanks. I have figured out how to take videos on my camera, so I will go and make a film trying to get all the weird nooks and crannies.
