Norc:- I like the way people just act like "oh well, just another day", You all seem to take it in your stride & dont worry. (best way to be in my view)

We had snow! Then we had black slush. Then a bit of ice. Now concrete again.
Its sunny today.

Re: Tales of Home [1]
I thought some sun-celebrating was needed. I have't taken any of em (Link below). The first two shows the island where I live, it's huge though, with a smaller one in the front. The next two are pretty much the view I have everyday on my way to shool and yeah, from my house. The last two are the mountains I sometimes ski on

gorgeous, is the light like that all the time? kind of sunsetty twilight, or do you get some proper daylight ever, or do you have to wait until May for that?

Re: Tales of Home [1]
mrs. Figg, yes and no. Still not many hours with pure, white daylight, about two-three hours, but the sunset and so last for like ever so yes. If it's not clouded with like snow clouds, it's pretty much like that ever day ^^

I am so lucky ^^ saw some amazing aurora borealis this evening, and with a full moon and snowy mountains it was just marvelous (was at a birthday party in one of the outer fjords, so not so much light disturbance ^^ )
Re: Tales of Home [1]
Did you take some pics?

Re: Tales of Home [1]
I don't have a camera that can take pictures of Auroras, it just ends up black with maybe some blurry green stuff.. but I would if I could

Here's one, but from my neck of the woods. Something tells me this lad is a pro.
Lots of pretty pictures here, amatures and such. Mainly from around my neck of the woods and some that aren't:
Pretty pictures.

Re: Tales of Home [1]
I mentioned in another thread how my grandmother was in hospice care, but I just got a call from my dad letting me know that she passed away early this morning. We don't know when the funeral will be yet but it'll presumably be Thursday or Friday. My dad is up at my grandparent's house now and I'll be going back and forth for the viewing and the funeral later this week.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know since you were all very supportive when I first got the news about her being in hospice.

Re: Tales of Home [1]
Sorry to hear that Eldo, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Re: Tales of Home [1]
so sad to hear that, my thoughts are with you and your family. my friend also just lost her grandmother, she was 90, they had just been at her birthday.
Re: Tales of Home [1]
Thank you, guys. We all knew this was coming, especially after she was in hospice care but in a way anyone who's seen her in the last year or two could probably have told that she was fading. It's sad but in a way it almost feels like a mercy that the long, drawn-out suffering is over for her. I just hope she's at peace now.
Re: Tales of Home [1]
yeah, i can imagen it's hard, both for the person and the family, to just fade away like that into someone you don't recognize anymore..

....and we still are. It's cool that you have grandparents you care about. (I just lost a very dear aunt over the holidays, so I'm dealing with some of the same things right now.)

Re: Tales of Home [1]
I'm sorry to hear about that Dave; I hope that you're doing okay.
My grandparents live about an hour away so I don't see them as much as I wish I did, but we go up there for a lot of holidays and such. There's a bit of divide with some of the family, to be honest, but my grandparents have always been great.

Re: Tales of Home [1]
It IS hard & you feel a sicky knot in your tummy, maybe your nan didnt always know or remember people ? but, YOU remember HER, & the love NEVER leaves. It IS an aura that IS felt, & as long as your memories are in your mind, the love will be there also.
