Re: Tales of Home [5]
20 years is young for a house. And if it's not on bedrock all sorts of things can happen - remember ruins that become buried or exposed with time, nothing is static. Especially dirt (and poltergeists).

Had a look at your blog to see the other pics, and noticed you wrote in nynorsk a while back - the language geek in me now looks a little bit like this

I choose to interpret that as something positive

i just realized it probably looks like we have a pet-bear or something going by the door scratches....Norc wrote:hm...(don't judge the dirty windows, we have a dog) i should add though that we have double windows (obviously, we live in the arctic) and the crack is on the inside.
Re: Tales of Home [5]
sorry i somehow norced it into window-shit.. these pictures are lovely i'm bumping them back
Ringdrotten wrote:As promised - brought the phone with me when me and a friend went out camping/drinking last week, and some of the pictures I took are decent enough to post!
This is the lake we went to, from left to right:
Poor quality on this one, but we never go far without "karskkjel'n"! (which is the kettle in the bottom left of the picture for you foreigners )
This one is taken as the sun is coming back up, somewhere between around 03:00 - 04:00 in the morning (we cannot quite boast of having the midnight sun down here, but the sunrise in summer is still a beautiful thing and something you don't get to see unless you're up all night)
These pics are from the same area, but a couple of miles to the south. It's a hill we went to on the morning that overlooks the entire area, and my poor iPhone camera doesn't do the view justice by a long shot, but the pics are enough to give you an idea of what the place looks like at least:
On the way back from said hill:
I also went for a walk in the area where I grew up and took some pictures, but I've got them on another computer so I'll upload those later

Haha, no worries Forumshire is a bit like real world conversations - you have to be there at the time they take place. If you're five minutes late, the subject will have changed It's nice of you, though, takker og bukker

Re: Tales of Home [5]
Yeah, great pictures.
Though it's strange to see everything looking so brown. Here everything is green, almost until bursting. Is that because of that drought you were talking about, Ringo?
I won't mention everything looking white, as for not to annoy norc by mentioning snow again.. Oh, damn.

That type of forest landscape is always that colour, or has been all the years that I've been camping. Alot of it is marshes, but that's not very easy to see in these pictures. The drier landscapes are growing very green here as well

Re: Tales of Home [5]
Is it peat Ringrotten?
There is an area here, 'The Badd'- that's a peat bog and has similar colouring all year round regardless of weather.

Re: Tales of Home [5]
Much of what is covering the hill is peat (didn't know that word, learning new stuff every day!), though I'm not exactly sure what the rest is (in the last pic for example), it's very swamp-like. Peat bog sounds fitting, though.

I looked up some pictures on google, and it looks about right, at least in some pictures. Welcome back, by the way!
