Re: Holidays and absences [2]
Nice photo Eldo, looks quite interesting.
I've now got an image of some locals attending a chruch service...
Not sure If I'd want to explore a cave system personally, even with lights, walkways etc, something about them just gives me the creeps, I'd always be worried I'd take a wrong turn. I'm more of a rambling around a forest type of guy when it comes to tearing my eyes away from the TV...
It's a little ironic really, I'm from Hampshire on the Southern Coast of England, a county jam packed with History and Stunning scenery, but I've never really taken advantage of it (I don't drive, and not being a holidaying type of person by nature probably has something to do with it...), you just take things for granted, Britain is a small island in the greater scheme of things, but there is hell of lot to see...
Back in the '50s some dude built what he called a "stalacpipe organ"

Even standing right in front of it, it looked like stalagmites on the bottom. The water was that smooth and clear.

Well you can rent out part of the cave to get married in, apparently.

That's certainly something I'd be worried of if I was in a cave by myself. Luray Caverns has been pretty thoroughly shaped to welcome tourists, although it's still changing due to water seepage and in recent decades a more conservationist mindset has prevailed. Forests are definitely cool too, although it being summer there were bugs everywhere, except in the caves, which kind of surprised me.

Well it was over three hours one way just to get to this park, one state over (and not even all that far into said state). But there's a ton of neat stuff practically in my back yard. The main reason I'm familiar with most of it is having gone and seen so much stuff with my mom and brother when we were homeschooling. I don't visit local stuff like that nearly as often anymore, for one reason or another.
Re: Holidays and absences [2]
Seems I'll be gone for the weekend. (You'll all miss me terribly, I'm sure.) Either way, enjoy yourselves, and I'll see you all next weeeeeeeek..

Yeah. Are they from a game or a FB app or something?
Re: Holidays and absences [2]
They are from an advert that comes up when you go to the avatar section on the profile page.
Re: Holidays and absences [2]
It's been on the avatar section as long as I've been around.

Oh wow. I don't think I'd ever even clicked on that link before, but yep, I see it there. Thanks.
Re: Holidays and absences [2]
Me neither.... thought it would get me to sign up for something. I am sure it probably got some of my details from somewhere though.
Re: Holidays and absences [2]
Thanks guys. Didn't take all that many pictures. Just a couple of the sunset.
Oh, and I made this gif.
Mostly it was just a nice quiet weekend.

Yeah, it's pretty cool. (Although any actual swinging is down to my wobbly camerawork.)
