Just until I have given it my full mod scrutiny, close up, to make sure it doesn't contain nudity- for the good of others of course.

Can't wait for series 3! Star Trek Into Darkness helped but it wasn't enough to meet my suave British dude quota.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
is that scene from Sherlock?, it seems out of character if it is, he should be asexual otherwise he loses some of his mystique, he didnt even bonk Irene.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
not sherlock no. and i disagree. Sherlock isn't asexual. we don't know what happened to him and irene, the show just chooses to make that aspect of his life a myth or a mystery. not knowing, the speculation, is much more fun. and he states he chooses works over relationships. doesn't say anything about sex or him being asexual.
Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
I disagree, I think his sexuality is ambiguous and mysterious, Sherlock in the Brett tv show seemed to have a revulsion of being physically touched by women, he backs off almost with disdain, and seeing as this is supposed to be Sherlock Holmes I think they should keep that important aspect of his character. He was in love with Irene but in a cerebral way it wasnt carnal love at least in the Brett show, I think they modernized him somewhat but I think too much sexyness is a mistake, he is not like other men and thats what makes him so hard to get and why Molly is so obsessed with him. I think there is a difference between being sexy and being sexual, obviously Cumberbum is very attractive as a man, sexy, but he is not sexual he is cold emotionally and I think asexual or abstains from sex or just doesnt 'get' sex in the way John Watson does being a bit more grounded and nowhere near sociopath, I think sociopaths are probably not interested in sex, they cant relate normally, (but I could be wrong about sociopaths of course, I just assume they are wired up differently)

Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
I agree with Figg!
Sherlock Holmes is not a sexual creature- is only interest in sex is in how it effects others and how that in turn provides motivations in crimes.
His brain is not genius by pure luck but also by design- to Holmes its a machine he has to constantly tune, giving over time and space to unreliable sexual craving or behaviours would be viewed as a disastrous waste.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
Sherlock Holmes is refreshing in these over sexualized times, to have a hero just not bovvered about rumpy pumpy is very unusual, and if they turn Sherlock into a sex bomb it will make him banal and predictable.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
He is not inhuman- its not that he doesnt have the normal urges- its that he chooses to use his mind as a surgical instrument instead- in the Scandal story (book not tv) Watson leaves the question just about open, its worded in such away that he says things like he doesnt think Holmes feels that way about anyone, but there's just enough wiggle room to leave a bit of doubt and intrigue.
But the point of that story is that she was, to Holmes, the Woman.
So its fine to have an underplay of her wiles against his rigid mental control in that story- it would be quite another thing to make it a regular feature of his character.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
I don't really have an opinion on the Sherlock question, but I don't think it's accurate (much less polite) to imply that being asexual makes one "inhuman". Just saying.
Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
What is the purpose of humanity if not to pass their genetic material on to the next generation? Its inhuman in that sense- it goes against the most basic natural urge and purpose of life- to perpetuate life.
