Sherlock - BBC [4]
Its a bit of a strange comment though. He will never watch it, but he will watch it to parody it?- Blue
I think he meant he would never take from their show the style of Sherlock and use it in his own show (the fast cutting ect) but he will happily take tropes from it for the purpose of sending it up.

Ah, I read it as he would never watch Sherlock. That makes a lot more sense.
Sure, but what on?

I saw that on itunes, but it was a bit of a pain as I had to restart it three or four times.
Might rewatch it now.
It's great by the way, for anyone else interested.

When you see something like this you realise how bloody difficult and annoying it must be to try to do the job! Imagine going to work and having this lot screaming at you the whole time when your just trying to do a job well.

It is a bit of a two egded sword, isn't it. Because where would they be without the fans.
Though I'm sure it's annoying in the moment.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [4]
the actors have said that they were reeally well behaved when they were filming, only between takes. but yeah, probably a bit, but i think they handled it well, both fans and crew and actors.

Is that a gif?
Or is there still an opening for posting the 1000th gif (at least according to Petty) on this thread?

Re: Sherlock - BBC [4]
So, just watched that Jonathan Creek episode parodying Sherlock.
Quite liked the parody, and it does send up Sherlock a bit. They even used a plot idea from the Sign of Three.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [4]
I was disappointed in it- knowing from the start how it happened rather killed the mystery- I kept waiting on a big twist that never came and I liked the Sherlock parodying at first but then it got a bit repetitious and forced.
It also helps if you are a detective show parodying another detective show that yours is written well enough to carry the parody- I didnt feel this was and I'm normally a fan of Jonathon Creek, but this episode felt short of new ideas.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [4]
it was a bit depressing that episode. I still prefer Caroline Quentin, she was fantastic, I love her sarkytude. Even Julia Swaheeliwallah was better than this boring woman.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [4]
taking a look at it now.. i totally sympathise with alan david and phones and shit in theatres..
Re: Sherlock - BBC [4]
I'm not sure i felt it really captured the spirit of the show either, or that the Columbo style to the episode really worked.
I did like the parody though. And I kind of wonder how much it was a send up of Sherlock, as there was quite a bit there one could relate to it.
The murder solution can't be a coincidence, can it? And the Sherlock character coming up with that suggested solution?
