I wish I could say I was surprised about any of this, but, you know. PJ.

Badass Digest wrote:We also saw Gandalf investigating the rising darkness. In one scene he is at a table with Elrond, Galadriel and Saruman, talking about ancient tombs that have been opened - ancient tombs with such strong binding spells no one should have been able to get in. Then there's a scene of Gandalf investigating the open tomb, where he runs into a very silly Radagast the Brown, who has some birds under his hat (we also saw a shot of his sled being pulled by bunnies). It turns out the opened tombs belong the nine Ring Wraiths.

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

NB I went through to bold the most ridiculous parts of that paragraph, but then I realized I had bolded the whole thing. Laughing

Norc - I hope not... but think it actually is!

Since they don't have official rights to anything outside LotR and TH, the Nazgul bit doesn't bother me particularly much. But the bunnies.....

And the dwarves coming to have a big battle with trolls....

And the bunnies.....

Don't say I didn't warn you! I don't know where to start! affraid Bunnie pulling sleds (why does he even have a sled?), Ringwariths tombs, Legolas rescuing them from the spiders, Radagast with a hat full of birds, the bunnies again, dwarves fighting the trolls, so much to hate and loath in such a short space of time- can you imagine how much awfulness there must be in two entire films worth? Evil or Very Mad Lessons learnt from arsing up LoTR's-0. Increase in the Covens ego snince LotR's- +10000000%

Not. Happy. NOT!

I don't mind finding the Ringwraith tombs so much (though it's not historically accurate - actually even breathing the word 'accurate' around this is wrong), or Legolas being part of the crew that eventually rounds up the dwarves (omission in the books doesn't mean lack of occurrence), but the rest is wrong.

Not worried about whether the clips shown look cinematic, I'm sure that will be fixed.

Halfwise - think you are probably right about the quality of the clips. There is still a lot of post-production left to do between now and December so I would think that is likely to be addressed.

My problem right now is whether this is supposed to be The Hobbit or one of those horrible Ripley clones from Alien Ressurection where they have tried to combine Doctor Doolittle with Hop!!

Bunnies???? He's a wizard that is likes nature, not god damn Easter Claus!

The vision in my head right now is probably very far from what was shown, but it is of Lindt type bunnies running in the snow pulling a really heavy, ornate sled.

The thing that pisses me off above all is the stripping away of the cinematic look, that to me is most worrying. I dont want to see a bad video from the 70s, what the hell is PJ thinking? It should look better than LOTR not WORSE.

If what these guys say is true, (and there is no reason to doubt them), or any indication that the look of the films will change dramatically, and the Hobbit looks like cheap video, I will be very upset, I have lost my enthusiasm for this film, I think its going to be crap, epic crap. If this is what PJ has done to this classic I will publicly make an aplogy to Petty for all the times I have defended PJ and critisized Petty for attacking him. He f-ing well deserves all Pettys rage and I will join him from now on, I am now officially a PJ basher.

The ego of PJ is amazing, he's ruined everything, for the chance to show off his new tricks, whats wrong with cinematic looking film? whats wrong with a good old fashioned 2d film?

sorry for the rant, I am well and truly pissed off.
