indeed how boring! whatever happened to the tale of a little Hobbit and his grumbling blundering friends?

how do you get that, Petty? the company is captured by spiders, then bilbo fights them off using the ring and teasing them. Then they run into the elves and woops, and suddenly the spiders return, in bigger numbers.

Come on its PJ! You really think he is going to have Bilbo teasing them away shouting 'attercop' I doubt it. And I dont expect the dwarves to get captured without a huge big fight first. I dont expect Biblo to escape without a fight and I expect another fight once he lets the dwarves out, then capture by elves, then another fight alongside elves when the spiders catch up with them.

What has poor PJ done now to upset you?

I'm not sure where to start Kafria (good to see you about again) what have uou missed? Are you up to elves and dwarves joining forces to fight of spiders?

Um ok- Radagast pulled in a sled led by bunnies- he has birds live under his hat and 'humourously' shit down his beard. The trolls do talk but there is a big fight too and the dwarves all rush in axes swinging. The Ringwraiths are imprisoned in tombs in the past by the dunedain, and the necomancer lets them out- why they have tombs when they are not dead know one knows, why they are in Th noone knows-the barrel sequence no longer seems to have Bilbo the renwned Barrel Rider as the barrels are open with the dwarves just sort of standing in them as they go through rapids. Dain when he arrives will be riding a giant pig (I'm not makng this up) And now we find out there is a big fight with dwarves teaming up with elves (no doubt led by Legolas and Tauriel) to fight the spiders in Mirkwood. I'm sure I've missed more but I'm in pain here juts thinking about it all.

At least we will have Who over xmas- Diana Rigg sparring on screen with David Warner and Matt Smith- that should make up for having to watch TH.

ANd new Merlin to look forward to.. finally got myself caught up!

I really enjoyed most of the last series of Merlin. They maybe overused 'old Merlin' a little but overall was cracking entertainment. A great improvement from its earlier series.

I agree, I watched the first two series as they aired, but got fed up. Hence the need to catch up now it has improved!

I'd actually managed to forget about the Ringwraith tomb thing for while there. Sadly I can confirm that everything Petty says is not just the buckie speaking. I'm not sure what to say about it anymore.

well, I have faith in PJ that he isn't a complete dork and have everything made into a fight scene.

The Hobbit has officially wrapped and the wrap party is due to get under way.
In other spurious rumour news Bernard Hill has been spotted in NZ- Theoden getting a cameo somewhere?! (I did say spurious rumour)

btw, Petty, I cam to think about the fact that you hate the thing with Gandalf and the staff and the trolls and the sunrise. Maybe he just cracks the rocks so that the sun burst earlier .

No I hate that it seems to descend into a big fight instead of the witty, fun dialogue of the book.
The rest I will judge in context as we havent seen enough to know exactly whats going on with Gandalf at that point.
