trains a great way to travel, I got to see 4 countries on one trip when I did inter-railing. The only three countries I actually liked enough to go again would be Corfu, Sardinia and Barcelona.

That was actually a response to Eldo's comment about how fast the weather changed...but somehow it found it's way to a different thread.

Re: Tales of Home [8]
WHILE Perth fell short of an all-time rain record it was still very wet with flooding in parts of the city. Officially, around 114mm of rain has fallen since 9am on Thursday.
The previous wettest day ever was recorded on February 9, 1992, when 120.6mm drenched the city.
Today's rainfall will, however, accompany what looks set to be Perth’s coldest February day on record.
The mercury reached only 17.4 degrees yesterday and need only stay below 19 degrees until 9am to enter the record books. At 5.40am, it was 15.2 degrees.
Makes a change from the normal 40 ℃ ☂

Re: Tales of Home [8]
What is Perth like Chris? I know plenty if people who have visited Sydney and Melbourne but other big cities over there don't tend to get much of a mention.

Re: Tales of Home [8]
Yes on the Indian ocean Perth closest City is 3'000 miles away i think, making it the most isolated city in the world. Sydney and Melbourne are brilliant, love going there.

That's actually pretty decent for your age, Norc.

Re: Tales of Home [8]
The clock resets once you are cut loose from college. In Real-Life years you are still young. I was only half-sure I was grown up through the first 5 years of grad school. When I went back 6 years later it felt a bit different, but I soon learned to think like a grad student again. (hint: if there's any source of calories left out for a seminar, etc, pounce on it like a starving monkey).

Re: Tales of Home [8]
Very pretty.
It's been in the high 60s here lately but we leave for skiing tomorrow. It's been really warm in upstate NY too but apparently it's supposed to get colder and maybe snow on Sunday or Monday so we might end up getting to do a little skiing after all.

Re: Tales of Home [8]
Yeah, it will be a lower bed of ice most likely. I did some ice skiing earlier this year and have had my fill.

Re: Tales of Home [8]
Moving buildings at work this weekend. No more view from Canary Wharf. I will post my new view when I get a chance to take a picture!
Re: Tales of Home [8]
I don't think I like changes anymore. Moving sounds like disharmony to me. I get annoyed when shops swap their aisles about. Are you going far ?

Sometimes there is disharmony that requires a change!
Going about 4 stops along the Jubilee line... probably about 8 miles or something like that.
