For me it is sunset. Towards end of last year it was Saturn and Jupiter. They below the horizon now.
Speaking of which, why do I feel the need to comment on videos that claim they prove the earth is flat?

You may have better luck converting a climate skeptic.

Trade you for a vaccine sceptic? I'll throw in links with ' the real truth...' in the title.

I once dated a girl who was an anti-vaxxer. She worked as a pharmacy technician too which made it even weirder.
Re: Tales of Home [8]
I have got myself embroiled in a chat on a YouTube video. Apparently gravity, evolution and the big bang are 'just unproven theories.'
That makes me angry but trying to be educational. Sure it won't work as they do like their little echo chamber clubs.

The weirdest people are the Flat Earth believers, it is continually impressive just how thick/stubborn people can be...

Flat Earthers I can almost understand, but non-believers in gravity?!

Re: Tales of Home [8]
Some flat-earthers say that gravity as conventionally understood doesn't exist, and the Earth-disc is simply accelerating upwards at a constant rate of 9.8 m/s2.
Re: Tales of Home [8]
Ah, that actually makes sense! But then I hope they don't believe in red-shift of starlight either....
btw, when I was teaching high school in west africa, the kids confided that they never really believed the earth was round, but they 'agreed' to it for the purposes of making it through class. The first time one kid really believed it was when he was being sent to America, and saw the sun was still up in London at 8:30 pm.
Actually understanding why higher latitudes have late sunsets in the summer is actually rather complex, and I don't think it was actually understanding why it was different that convinced so much as the fact that something WAS different.

Maybe this is why my life always feels like it's spinning out of control.
Edit: every time I quote someone it doesn't look normal. Why?

Try going to clicking on the "Profile" link in the forum header, then the "Preferences" tab, and check if the "Always allow BBcode" option is turned on.
Re: Tales of Home [8]
I think I was clicking on all those options when I was trying to get everything to work the other day on my laptop. That might be it.

Its another beautiful full moon tonight, its absolutely blinding its so bright. And the community of clouds around it are just like the myriad of ripples on a sandy beach.

Re: Tales of Home [8]
Really ? oh fook. We have had severe weather warnings for the South East of England, Artic snow etc. I don't "do" the cold I'm a fire hugger. 16 prs of socks, 3 pairs of trousers, numerous jumpers, 3 or 4 hot water bottles, & a big Duvet whilst clinging to a radiator on full blast, that's me
