Re: Doctor Who [12]
No I haven't bad mouthed you at all- I have pointed out the obviously fallacy of your argument- that noone who works with him or for him, or ever has done, or has played one of his female characters has ever made any such accusation against him (quite the opposite in fact- from Press Gang onwards you will find his lead actresses full of praise for his female characters- from Julia Swahali to Alex Kingston today).
And also that you put down and belittle those who have worked for him who defend him as your defence. Which you do- you just did it twice above- first to Alex Kingston and then to Karen Gillan. Simple as that.

Re: Doctor Who [12]
After watching the docu-drama of the origins of Who, we watched some of the Hartnell episodes. It's interesting to see from a sense of where it all started, but at the same time a bit tedious to watch by modern standards, so took a break. I should be getting back to it when things calm down again.

Re: Doctor Who [12]
You should be ok when you get into the 70's and 80's (apart from the effects obviously) but to be honest I would say the show doesn't enter the modern age of filming and directing until the final episodes of the 7th Doctor and the shows end, ironically enough. That last series shares more sensibilities with NuWho than the rest of classic in my opinion.
However if you find watching all the ones there a bit much you might want to just watch the last and first story of each Doctor, as its always interesting to see how that was handled each time (unlike NuWHo with its big glowy gold light almost every classic regeneration is completely different in how its done, and I don't mean just sfx)

Re: Doctor Who [12]
Personally I know I'll be fine once I get to Baker, if only for nostalgia's sake. And I do want to see them all to get the full context. It's just that I think some of them may be best watched on evenings when I have the house to myself. I've learned over time that bolus infusions of nerdiness can sometimes be detrimental to relationships.....

Don't underestimate cranberry power! I could watch it if I wanted to {{{at res=144 and 10 minutes to buffer}}}. I just don't want to!

Re: Doctor Who [12]
What's that even mean?
I swear, some of these video titles really are style over substance.
But wait! I just thought of something:
"When something goes missing you can always recreate it by the hole it left."
Kind of like when Smith Doctor came back from oblivion thanks to Amy doing... erm... Something happened there with her memory of the doctor bringing him... back? Or something? There was definitely something..
Hole-ish. And then he got recreated! Inside-reference methinks?

Re: Doctor Who [12]
There was a reason with Amy though- she grew up with the crack in the universe pouring through her mind every night- the very place to where things went from reality and so she could draw them back- as she also did Rory.
"When something goes missing you can always recreate it by the hole it left."
That line is a reference to something said to 11 after he removed all records of himself, but for the life of me I cant recall who it was, might have been River.

Re: Doctor Who [12]
Enjoyed the xmas episode- a festive romp with just the right touch of emotion to stop it being completely slight. One of the better broader appeal xmas specials I felt.
- Spoiler:
- Shame it seems to be the last River episode we are likely to get (though Moffat did as always leave a little 'wiggle room') as Capaldi and Kingston were great together.
