Re: Game of Thrones [2]
The person writng that blog is moving the goalposts when and how it suits their agenda. She is blaming D&D for depicting realistic medieval brutality? Not all background actors are going to get a meaningful story arc where they find salvation on fluffy pink clouds. Its a very naïve at best and at worst it gives feminist critique a bad rap. When it comes to misogyny this person seems to have latched onto a soft targets and is deliberately fuelling a backlash. She would be better served getting angry about IS rather than trying so hard to invent reasons for hating on professional tv producers who are just doing a job.

Re: Game of Thrones [2]
My last thoughts on the matter then I have no more to say.
Suppose, just suppose GRRM had written the sex slave scene as the show did (Tyrion feeling guilty over Shae seems plausible) and the show did it as the Martin wrote it in the books. Just reverse it.
I will guarantee as sure as the sun comes up those same critics will be laying into the show for putting in yet another rape scene as compared to the thoughtful character redeeming scene in the books. Because that's what they do.
Not defending the writers against poor choices (where's Jaime in the riverlands?) but I think there's a mix, and if there's bad choices it's not all about idealizing masculinity while turning women into sex objects. Shae in the show is actually more interesting than in the books, though some people don't like her performance (I think it's lovely).

Yeah, it's up to the level of this. (Which was my previous favourite.)

Although, this has to be the best GoT's joke ever made.

The tables are about to be turned, though!

all very impressive apart from the Sandsnakes , but I don't think women can fully commit to fighting in the way men can as we are afraid of getting hurt or getting cut, at least I imagine that's why they look so much like Big Girls Blouses, I don't blame them really, unless you are Milla Jovovich or Sigourney Weaver it aint going to look authentic..

How about Summer Glau in Firefly/Sarah Connor Chronicles? That little girl could kick some butt.
