Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
Discussion, speculation, and fangasming about Game of Thrones without bringing up anything that has not yet happened in the show. Mentioning of book-exclusives that the show has already covered or clearly skipped are probably okay. If you're discussing major events of a new episode that's only a few days old, then spoiler tags for that would be polite. Do not use spoiler tags for book stuff, just put that in the other thread. Thanks in advance!
Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
I am more confused than before. cant we just have a simple spoiler or non spoiler thread for both show and books.

Oh so this is the TV thread! I read it as:
Game of Thrones (books are for nerds )
not
Game of Thrones (books are for nerds )
My bad.

Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
this is fucking confusing. One thread should be for
1. people who dont want to read spoilers of either books or tv show.
2. the other thread for talking about books and tv show openly without having to use these,

2. the other thread for talking about books and tv show openly without having to use these,

Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
I'm not sure I follow, Mrs Figg. There isn't really such a thing as spoilers for the TV show because we don't know what's going to happen in a given episode until it airs, at which point most everyone watches it within a few days of each other. Whereas the books dump massive amounts of information all at once, but not everyone who is interested in the story reads them.

Sorry. I edited the title to hopefully be more clear.
Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
yes but sometimes someone hasnt seen the tv show and another person has, one person has seen an episode ad another hasnt seen it yet, they talk about the episode and someone complains and says please use spoilers so its simple, one thread should be for spoilers and the other thread should be for non spoilers for BOTH books and tv show

Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
But then you get into the question of what about someone who has seen the latest episode, but doesn't want to have to dodge book spoilers? It's quicker and easier to catch up on TV episodes than to read a book or watch a movie that's only in theatres, so I'm not sure I see the need for a thread for people who are an episode or two behind.

well I still dont understand which thread isfor what purpose.

This thread is for discussing whether or not its very existence makes sense.
Rather self indulgent for a thread; I shall now retreat to contemplate whether or not my existence makes any sense.

Actually that's very clear. I suggest we now cease using spoilers in the other thread, which is now wide open, and call this thread the spoiler-free thread (or is the other one spoiler free? Dammit, now I'm confused. )

Re: Game of Thrones -- TV ONLY
I was really tired yesterday from several days of sleeping poorly, but I really don't think that the explanation I wrote before this all blew up (which is the one you just quoted) was all that unclear.

I feel your pain, Eldo. I thought my explanation of the distinction between a horse appearing grey and actually being grey (even if it appeared white, or vice versa) was quite clear too!

You didn't actually expect us to make this easy for you, did you?

Is Cercei grooming Viper because she prefers to marry him than girliecurly Tyrell? because she seemed to have given him a Show, we both have people to Revenge yadda, heres a boat yadda, my poor daughter yadda, I am not really a cold nasty bitch yadda. After she found out from Tywin that they are financially on the skids.

Well we know that Myrcella is in Dorne and that the viper has come to get some revenge on the Lannisters. I saw that little walk as trying to be nice so she doesn't lose another child.

And Oberyns scenes were great.
