Re: Future releases [2]
i wanna see this so badly because lots of actors and bofur and michael palin and that psycho from GOT!!
Re: Future releases [2]
Michael Palin! Nice.
I'm watching either Wadjida or Don Jon tonight. I can't think of two more contrastingly-themed films. One about a New Jersey pornography-addict, the other about a young girl testing boundaries in Saudi Arabia.
Still, either way should be good. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is always good, and a thoughtful film couldn't be bad after watching the Rankin-Bass Hobbit last night.
I mentioned this elsewhere but I am making nachos tonight after all. I pride myself on my excellent nachos.

I would have actually watched it then.
Oh my word, do you think they'll have the entirety of Galt's speech? I think it's about 50 pages IIRC.

Bad news for fans of the classic Universal horror monsters.

The studio is in early stages of developing a substantial new production endeavor that will expand and unify a network of classic characters and stories. The architects of that narrative will be Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan. Kurtzman recently broke with partner Roberto Orci, but his big-scale projects have included Transformers, Star Trek and The Amazing Spider-Man.

Re: Future releases [2]
That's pretty great. Every now and then I fear that the movie poster is a lost art form, but there's always something new out there (sometimes in unexpected places).
I will say that the DOS poster with Bilbo standing in front of the Lonely Mountain wasn't all that bad either, but I really like paintings as posters.

Re: Future releases [2]
I should have known as soon as you said weirdlooking it would be made by the French! Still noone makes a weird film as well as them.
Anyone seen City of Lost Children? (dont watch it dubbed, but I couldn't find a non-dubbed trailer )
or Delicatessen?

Re: Future releases [2]
Yes! I have seen both (in French, but subtitled).
I prefer Delicatessen as City of Lost Children is downright surreal at times. They're both rather weird, as you say, but I enjoyed them both well enough.
As regards the Paddington trailer, well... it looks pretty bad.
I mean, appealing to children is one thing, but a sequence of intended comedy involving ear-wax, toilet humour, and a wayward bathtub stolen from Pirates! is hardly what Paddington Bear means, or should mean, to people.
It was funny and endearing to see him concerned about needing a dog to carry around and I began to change my mind about the teaser trailer, but then his face was squashed in closing doors.
Yeah I think I'll pass. I didn't particularly want a film about Paddington Bear, and now I'm upset that it exists. Way to pull a PJ there Paul King.
And Jim Broadbent as Mr. Gruber!! And Peter Capalid as Mr. Curry!
My gosh this bloody teaser had better give the lie to what the film will actually be like.

Re: Future releases [2]
Not quite the classic animated version I remember with good old Sir Michael Hordern (Gandalf in the BBC radio version) on voice duties-
