i feel i am going to regret this, but why is the arc round?

They recently discovered the earliest version of the Flood story on an ancient tablet in Iraq from about 4000 years ago (the bible version is roughly from about the 9th century BC at the earliest)- it has the description of the ark which was just a huge coracle (a primitive but very effective round boat) with partitions like the spokes of a wheel.

but isn't a round boat thing hard to navigate?

Well even in the Bible version they dont navigate- everywhere is under water, so they just float, and when the water recedes they end up on top of a mountain- so steering wasnt important.

But if you wanted to steer it youd need a bloody massive paddle!   

Who's the poor unlucky so & so thats gotta clear up 10 tons of animal shat, 100 gallons of wee & 10 tons of vomit from bewildered sea sick animals ? And who had to stop one species eating the other ? & how did animals that need to live in water, (or partially) cope ?

Id like to 'sea' that film but, I have a terror of water, especially the sea & break out with asthma

Well, if I were to venture forth a theory it would be they didnt Azriel, assuming its based on an element of truth- a very large localised flooding of the Mesopotamian region (which did happen) and someone did make a huge coracle-  then I suspect originally they took their household, whatever animals they had and whatever grain they had, and over the years and it getting mythologised it became every creature on the planet- which is obviously ludicrous unless they were advanced aliens preserving animals via eggs and sperm, then you could maybe get them all on and no shit to worry about   (does beg the question why would advanced aliens build a wooden boat but hey ho, its no less likely than the Noah story, actually its more likely than the Noah story!)

One can get quite a shock if one actually sits down with ones Bible. As one realizes that God was so fed up with humans that he decided to commit geniocide by chapter 7. Kiling of everyone but his friend Noah.
