Don't forget the shitty Clone Wars animated movie (though the TV series based on it did eventually get better). Although even at its worst, TCW was still light-years (lol) ahead of the mid'-80s bargain basement era of Star Wars.

That's a great movie, haven't seen it in years though. Terry Gilliam is a good director. Really liked Baron von Münchhausen too.

yes Terry Gilliam was pretty great in his heyday, Brazil is one of my all time favourite films, although I haven't enjoyed anything he did after Baron Munchhausen. The one with Matt Damon as Grimm, cant remember the name of the film, was so excruciatingly bad I walked out of the cinema.

Good Lord, that is... one of the worst things I've ever seen.
The worst part is that Mala or Nala or whatever looks horribly, horribly like someone I know. Ugh, I need to go lie down.

Not watching the trailer I I can avoid it.
I loved Skyfall though (even if there were some gaping holes in the plot) so it sounds promising...

Big Arnie in a zombie film- and its tender and thoughtful! Has potential for being the film no one expected it to be!

Re: Future releases [2]
Zombie films bore the arse off me, its the same recipe over & over again, & just for a change, because the writers cant think of what else to do, its turned into a comedy, like "shaun of The Dead" ( which I still giggle at ) But this, this looks good dare I say. From that clip it feels like they are using the Ebola scare to add flavour to the film ?
{{{ flavour, zombies, hee hee, sorry bout that }}}

Re: Future releases [2]
It would be nice if they are using the zombie thing as a proxy for some other message, after all thats how Romero used them in his original Zombie film trilogy that largely invented the modern genre- Night was a commentary on racism and acceptance. Dawn was about blind consumerism and Day about bureaucracy and human power structures and the pointlessness of the bulk of human activity when the context of civilization is stripped from it.

Re: Future releases [2]
So the Batman bin Suparman trailer leaked today and I gotta be honest, I'm not really feeling it. When half the lines in the trailer are hopeless cliches or stolen from other movies (hmm, where have I heard "you're so caught up in what he can do..." before ), it doesn't fill me with hope that the rest of the movie is well-written. This is the same reason I was pessimistic about Interstellar based on the trailers, although the finished movie wasn't as bad as I'd feared, so I can at least hope the same will hold true here.
https://vid.me/NlzG
Edit: it gives the impression that they've ran right past the supposed "gritty realism" of the Nolan films into full-blown grimdark territory. I don't think grimdark fiction works very well without an undercurrent of satire; otherwise it just becomes utterly senseless and misanthropic. Judge Dredd works because it's a social satire, Warhammer 40K works because it's a satire of military sci-fi. Both have self-awareness and moments of black comedy. I don't really trust Snyder to be self-aware.

Official release of the trailer. I wasn't interested in Man of Steel, but I might check this out (depending on the reviews, of course).

Rewatched the trailer, official version this time, and I'm feeling it a little bit more, but I'm still not sure. I'll definitely see it out of curiosity if nothing else, though.
Re: Future releases [2]
I am not a big super hero fan, but if I was forced at gun point to pick a favorite, I would choose Batman. And Batman would be the only reason I see this movie.

Re: Future releases [2]
OK I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I like the look of that more so than any of the previous Batman or Superman films- there is a potentially genuine and interesting avenue to explore there about power and what motivates someone to want it and using those two as the comparative studies. If they use the comic book trappings to explore those themes and aspects of human nature they might actually make the first comic book film since Watchmen that I can see the point to.

What Petty said & Halfy agreed to,
though, It has to handled carefully to succeed. Good beginnings, weakening middle, floppy ending wont gain anything.Ive seen many films with potential that have lost their bottle & meandered off. Its boring !, if your stuck for other words to describe it, & wasteful, I want something I can get my teeth into & can come back for more. I dont want "1st date syndrome" where your left feeling deflated.
