Re: There and Back Again
Dont worry Petty My memory is shat to, & I dont have Buckie to blame !
No, Malick, I dont give a flying fook what they call these films myself ! Battle of the five fuck ups for all I care ! My eyes are now sore & heavy from watching DoS this evening. Heavy, cos I had to strain so hard to keep my eyes actually open. Yet again, the best 'actor' was CGI ! God fuck-a-duck, is this what it comes down to ?? a fooking computer program ? Benebum-tiddly-om-pom-pom Cumberthrash's Smaug was the best in conveying any emotion thru that film. Even if Smaug never moved or said anything, he'd still out shine the others ! Pages more of jottings of how Id rather have fillings without pain relief, than ever watch this again !
Mrs Figg......your probably right about Michael Bay ! I can see them now, like little boys in a bedroom, swinging toys thru the air, robots & planes & making nnnnnnnneeeeeeaaaaaarrrr, BOOM ! zzzzzzzzzzzzznnnnngggg noises

Re: There and Back Again
somebody please give me a few million quid and I will make a proper Hobbit film. well not me exactly, I would ask the BBC/HBO to do it for me, but I would make sure there was no gratuitous bonking.

And the sheer fooking audacity Peejers had in a drawn out cameo of him crunching a carrot whilst staring right in the camera ! You aint fooking Hitchcock ! not now, not ever ! If I was present on set, this is what you might have seen from me Peejers !
but, the chest is not where I'D start

Re: There and Back Again
I'm a little more than a minute in and the only joke they've made so far is "fuck". They missed at least one really great opportunity for an "Oakencock" line. Mix it up a little, guys! I expect better from my juvenile YouTube humor.
Edit: all is forgiven for the line "Tauriel, you cannot fuck 30 orcs on your own". Orly's delivery of the original line makes it so sweet. "Barrel-fucker" was pretty good to (especially if you remember the line from the book: "was Barrel your pony?" ).

Re: There and Back Again
Yes, I thought the exchange between Tauriel and Leggy was worth sharing the whole vid, especially when it gives new meaning to Leggy's, "You knew I would come."

I was hoping they'd do "Azog the Fucker."

Re: There and Back Again
I watched the Rankin-Bass Hobbit last night. The thing that stuck out the most for me was that the Elven-king has an accent somewhere between Dracula and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

And now there was nothing but the roofs of houses, sweeping along like a great torrent of stones and rocks. Chimney-pots fell, and tiles flew from the roofs..."

Re: There and Back Again
I liked the Rankin Bass film quite alot (well I think I did, haven't watched it in ages) (though the less said about the Wood Elves the better), it's a charming mess.
But my fave adaptation of the book is the graphic novel (where my avatar is taken from).
