'There and Back Again' moved from July to December 2014
It's now being reported that the third Hobbit movie, There and Back Again, has been moved to a December release. This will be consistent with the releases of all three LOTR movies and with the first two Hobbit movies. The previously announced release date for TABA was July 18. It will now be released on December 17, 2014, which is 11 years to the day after Return of the King was released.
TORn has the press release:
http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2013/02/28/69532-third-hobbit-moved-from-july-to-december-2014/
As far as I know there hasn't been an official reason given for the change. It may be that they didn't want to compete against a crowded summer schedule (though I don't know how crowded Summer 2014 will be). Personally I'm rather happy since LOTR has always been a winter franchise and its associated with December in my mind.

I noticed. I figure this could use its own thread though since it's fairly big news.

not much new in this video, except that it hints that legolas at some point has Orcrist... now that is a turn we hadn't expected!!! (who will lay it upon his grave then, Thrandy or Leggie? how much of a partdoes Legolas play in the capturing of the dwarves)

Got this off IMDB also. Its weird, Ive spoken about Tauriel before, (at Bree mostly) but its when I actually see her NAME listed that I really feel "what a f**king CON this is !", purely because she's a character Tolkien NEVER included in the book. I know its all fiction, but,Tauriel is more ficticious than anyone else & I dont bloody like it !!

if Smaug dies in DOS, TABA will be a 3 hour battle scene.

Each character will get twenty minutes of screen time where they do nothing but fight.Mrs Figg wrote:if Smaug dies in DOS, TABA will be a 3 hour battle scene.
Plenty of character development.

Re: 'There and Back Again' moved from July to December 2014
You guys are forgetting all the political wrangling that goes on between Smaug's death and the battle. Hopefully there will be some lengthy flashbacks to explain everything.
