Re: Tales of Home [4]
This might not be as gorgeous, but I managed to get some pictures of our elusive snow. And on Cristmas eve no less (while being soaked and blown all over the place. )

Re: Tales of Home [4]
A couple of years ago my local town lost one of its two ferry operators.
A car/passenger ferry was replaced with a passenger only 'raft' that seems to have been off more often than its sailed.
After two years of complaints and petitions a new boat was finally made available to cover for periods of bad weather when the crappy passenger one cant sail (so thats anything above a strong breeze )
Those who have been campaigning all this time were understandably happy- heres how my local newspaper reported what happened when the new ferry came online-
'A party to celebrate the arrival of MV Coruisk as bad weather relief on the Dunnon-Gourock ferry route was called off on Friday- as the vessel was unable to sail because of bad weather.'

Those are great drawings, Norc - somehow you keep impressing me, even though I should be expecting quality stuff from you by now

Wow.
So Thorin on the right? Not sure I can place the other picture.
Still to my mind there's a lot worse one could be doing while bored at 3 in the morning than creating art.

Those are fantastic Norc. Sometimes it seems talented people are not aware of how good they are, and how much untalented hacks like myself are envious of it.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
You were searching, which is an artists right.
Anyway, you feeling it was a slight failure will only help you improve in the future. Unless you let it get to you too much.
I'm getting daily lectures from my brother of how pratice is everything and that talent means nothing. So I think I'll stay out of that debate.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
your brother is right u can be talented, but it won't get u anywhere if you don't practice and feed that talent.
well, i am ok with those two, they're just sketches really and u see the tom hiddleston one is very small (that's my hand) so not much room for details

Re: Tales of Home [4]
All comes down to brains in the end, the physicality of them, not how bright a person is- repeat an act often enough your brain lays down better and better, more and more efficient pathways every time you repeat the action and you get better at it. Eventually it becomes 'second nature'.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
Haha, I didn't really want to get into that because I've always floated a bit too much on my talent. But I would tend to agree with it too. Though I think it's several things interplaying. You need talent as a base and then dedication and ambition to exploit it.
Seeing your pictures you obviously have a talent and the fact that you're not satisfied means you have some sort of ambition for your work as well. So you just need to get dedicated I guess.

Re: Tales of Home [4]
Well, you don't need to for my sake. I have more than enough issues with my own dedication, so I shouldn't really talk.
