Yep. I'm sure they've just got to finish Orwell's video first.... {{ }}

Well said, though that proverb has an unidiomatic ring to it

Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
I've got film award results, not everybody voted, but I could (attempt) to do an award ceremony! It won't be as glorious as one Petty could make, but it'd be something! I could do it this weekend, so if you haven't voted on movie awards you can do so (they're in the voting thread). You can PM me or just post your votes in the thread. Would that be okey dokey?

They should be careful or we'll start talking about taking water over ones head.

Yes, I'm back home for a while, and I really should be trying to dig myself out from under the heaps of REal Life that have piled up in my absence, instead of trying to get caught up on all the threads here that I've missed in the last couple weeks. %$##^%!

Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
my votes.
Norc wrote:here's the list, including the category i added below.Norc wrote:Tinuviel wrote:here they are!
BEST LOOKING CGI
Smaug
WORST LOOKING CGI
Liquid Gold
DUMBEST "PJ-MOMENT"
Heroic Wheel-barrow was great!
Golden Statue
Tauriel's Healing Scene it's a tie between these two..... both are fucking ridiculous!
Bilbo killing the baby spider. i liked that one..
BEST REALIZED NEW MIDDLE-EARTH ENVIRONMENT
Lake-town it was the only one looking like i thought it would look like.
WORST INVENTED ACTION SET PIECE
Chase to Beorn's
Mirkwood Spider Fight (this was not invented.. well, maybe just bilbo's bit)
Barrel Chase
Gandalf vs. Necromancer
Lake-town Fight (Orcs vs. Elves)
Erebor Showdown (Dwarves vs. Smaug) i can buy everything but this.. laughed myself to death..
BEST INVENTED ACTION SET PIECE (switched places of these categories because i can't read)
Chase to Beorn's
Mirkwood Spider Fight
Barrel Chase I LOVED THAT!!! GO BOMBUR!
Gandalf vs. Necromancer
Lake-town Fight (Orcs vs. Elves)
Erebor Showdown (Dwarves vs. Smaug)
MOST OBVIOUS LOTR MOMENT
Aethelas/healing scene
"Dwarf Blood"/"Man Flesh"
Sauron/Ring
PJ Cameo all of them, i can't decide...
WORST LINE(S) OF DIALOGUE
"You like killing things, you like death? Then let me give it to you!" - Tauriel
"Such is the nature of evil, in time all foul things come forth!" - Thranduil (fixed it)
"We are legion." - Azog
"If this is to end in fire, then we will all burn together." - Thorin <-- OI! best bit of dialogue!
"We don't have a jiffy." - Dwalin
"I could have anything down my trousers." - Kili also one of the good ones
BEST NON-CANON CHARACTER
Tauriel
Legolas
Alfrid
Azog
Bard's Family
Radagast say whatever u want about why he shouldn't be there, he is a fucking fantastic character, i love him!
Sauron
WORST NON-CANON CHARACTER
Tauriel we need women..
Legolas
Alfrid
Azog
Bard's Family
Radagast
Sauron
I'm pretty sure Petty approved of these, but seeing as it's a little late in the game... I don't know. It's up to Petty I guess.
i have one more:
BEST LINE OF DIALOGUE (one liners and a bit more)
"If this is to end in fire, then we will all burn together!" - Thorin
"I am fire, I am death" - Smaug
"-I found something in the goblin-tunnels" ["what did you find"] "my courage" - Bilbo Baggins
Smaug: Well, thief! I smell you, I hear your breath, I feel your air. Where are you?
[moves in Bilbo's direction]
Smaug: Where are you?
[Bilbo runs, but Smaug hears his footsteps across the gold and follows]
Smaug: Come now, don't be shy... step into the light.
(basically I'm nominating the whole of that sequence between Smaug and Bilbo) ALL of the Smaug bits!

Fact is I was planning to get at least three times as much done this morning as I did. Then poverty and David Lynch struck.

I don't remember if I voted for the movie categories.
And why hasn't Petty posted in this thread since coming back?

I don't think you have yet Eldo.
And he most definitely is because he's drinking away Forumshire's supply of Buckie to drown away his stress!!!

Re: The 2013 Forumshire Awards
I have sent a secret missive to Petty, your Maj. I even offered to help, too!
Mind, I suspect it might be something as simple as Life intruding. And to think, I never knew Scotshobbits had Lives (as such)*.
*Which is the reason they drink so much Buckie as I was reliably informed {{{by Odo. }}}
{{{Tin, if I don't get a satisfactory reply soon - next it will be stink bombs in the post! }}}
