The Official 2013 Forumshire Awards

Good evening Forumshire!

Wait...hold on a bloody minute- that was the wrong intro!    That was the bloody one I did with Odo, I had to go back and do one with just me, where's that?
Not enough bloody time to edit it!!! But I was three weeks in that river- 200 hours of footage and that was all you got?   
Bloody PJ!   

Ahem. Yes, welcome to the 2013 Forumshire ladies and gentlehobbits of Forumshire, and of course Her Majesty Queen Tinuviel up there in the box.

This year as been both sad and happy. Sad because we had to all watch DOS, and happy because we are at least more than half way through.

And sad and happy on Forumshire too as beloved faces have faded from us, and new fresh once have sprouted up like those suspicious carrots in Dave's field come Springtime.

But what has been is another buy year of fun, mayhem, occasiona fight and of course buckie in Forumshire. And that is what we are all here to celebrate once more.

So without further ado lets get on with the first award.

And we begin this year with the award for Most Liberal.

This was a close run thing this year, with not even DOS dampening the PJ love from these contenders, but in the end there was only one clear winner.

The first award of the 2013 Forumshire awards go to-

For every Norc you need a Cumberbatch, for every Petty a buckie, and for every liberal you need a Purist.
Which brings me onto one of the most prestigious of all Forumshires Awards- Most Pure.

More than any other year this category was fiercely contended with voting very close indeed.
But in the end there can be only one Most Pure, and the winner is!! Well bugger me!

Well brushing aside cries of 'fix' from the groundlings   I shall move swiftly on to our next award of the evening.

Historically this is not only one of the nights big categories, it has also been the most hard fought over and the most jealously guarded.

Thats right, its Most Respected.

And as before so again for hard competition as this category had more nominations and was more tightly fought than in any previous year, but by a respectable nose, the award goes to-

Now some have looked down (at the danger of a loss of their head) on the next award.
but as one f the orginal forum awards and whose origins lie in the depths of time it is an honoured entry in the list of Awards.

Thats right folks- its Best Nose-

And there was only one stand out winner this year in that category, it was of course-

Forumshire some might say is an eccentric place, some may even dare to say its inhabitants are eccentric too, were they not to busy building lore towers, drinking buckie and swearing at each other to notice.

But what marks out the heart of a true Forumshirian?
What word really best sums up the Forumshire spirit and who best embodies it?

Thats right, its Most Enigmatic.

well first of all thank you everyone who voted for me, even though u might not take "liberal" as a compliment.

i love u all, but i apparently love PJ's creations more  but to semi-quote this danish fellow.."tolkien fan first, pj fan second"  (original quote: "human first, christian second")

Well, I guess congratulations are in order.   Though I guess no big surprises so far.

Oh, and I see you found some use for it.    

They build them high, then steal them off each other? What you may ask?
Why Lore Towers of course. Those bastions filled with brains.
Those humble abodes where the Lore fills the air and elvish poetry is discussed at all hours of the day and arguments erupt over shades of grey.

It can only be time for the professionally jealously guarded award of Best Lore.

And this year the award, by a respectable margin, goes to-

This award no doubt comes with much anticipation, for few are brave enough to come to Forumshire, and fewer still brave enough to make it home.
Yet they do come, refugees from forums far and wide seeking freedom, buckie and silliness by the cartload.

Its Best Newcomer, the lifeblood of Forumshire.

And I am happy to say, and not just to make the losers feel better, that all our regular posting newcomers this year got votes but in the end, by a single vote, there can be only one Best Newcomer.

And its-

Now we come to a prestigous award. And the first of two awards celebating the sexes.

Its the Best Male award, open to all male members (and me once I'd provided a birth certificate   )

And the winner of Best Male 2013 is-

Strange as news form Bree might be its not as strange as the sort of news that regularly turns up on Forumshire, whether we want it too or not.

But who is best at gathering and delivering the news? Who keep us most informed and up to date?

Well the answer and the winner of Best Newshound is-

the fact that i didn't win best newshound is absolutely a scandal! don't i keep u fucking update on sherlock and new movies and shite then i don't know...

Forumshire has been home to some strange devices in its time such as encryption brackets, and every year something new comes along.
So what was 2013's biggest trend- why Norcing of course!
A sport particularly suited to Forumshires posting customs (or lack of)- but the skill of norcing a forum that should in theory be unnorcable by its very nature is one the citizens of Forumshire have taken to heart.

But who is the Queen or King of Norcing threads? Who could derail a speeding train?

Well, lets find out- the winner of Best Norcer is-

like a boss  

So now we come to one of our other big awards this year, and another tightly contested one.
Its the accompaniment to Best Male, that's right its Forumshires Best Female.

Handbags and nails at the ready ladies, the Best Female winner is-

Forumshire, despite being the best, is not the only Tolkien forum in existence (I know hard to believe there is a need for any others) but from those forsaken sites come Forumshire Ambassadors.

Which Ambassador pulls the punches though? Well, the answer to which Ambassador is the Best Ambassador is -



Yup, fear of the Dark Planet keeping the voters in line!

Yes they do! At least in Forumshire and its avatars.
But whose got the best look in the land? Who could cut a dash in solid steel?

me and my sister are "watching" the awards  loving the show

Some residents of Forumshire dont need much to make them crabbit, some need at least a PJ marathon, and some you have to pour honey on and go poke a bees nest with a stick to get crabbit.
Yet the next award is highly prized (by some, ok, me) and this year was very closely contended indeed with just a single vote separating winner from crabbit loser.

Thats right- its Most Crabbit-



I am obviously very crabbit that this award is not considerably lager than all the others

Good things come in twos in Forumshire (if they are lucky and get their timing synched!), but which of Forumshie many diverse couples and crabbit couples and ones with men called Bear in them is the most popular?
