What was the "WotW" ? did I miss something ?- Azriel

After watching Speilbergs War of the Worlds I got very crabbit, so crabbit I (rather quickly I must admit) wrote a four part tv adaptation of the book to make me feel better about having had to watch Speibergs attempt. And I posted it on here, and no one read it!

Its out of date now, I've added a few bits, and I added an extra opening scene set in Tazmania when the British Empire wiped out the last surviving Tasmanian.
But the major changes I made from the book still stand and it was those I was most interested in hearing people's thoughts on.

Well, Ive got a deliciously awful "flu bug" at mo, so, might be able to read it if my nose doesnt drip to bad on the keyboard !

Thats the spirit Azriel! You can always de-snot the keyboard later and send the contents to PJ, I am sure he has a comedic use for it somewhere.

Only snot ? I was thinking of something more "aromatic" for PJ (& by the bucket load !)

That should say last purely indigenous Tasmanian. Tasmanian aboriginals are quite offended by comments like that. The bloodline goes on and is not extinct.

Fair enough- although the popular view in the late Victorian period was I believe that they had wiped the last one out, it seems to be something Wells got quite stirred up about (and quite rightly) and makes several references to it in WotW so I thought a good actiony opening might be to draw out that comparison, with a primitive people in term of weaponry faced with overwhelming might and power of the British Empire rolling over the top of them with superior unknown 'alien' firepower- then for the Martians to turn up and do the same to the British Empire.

Now I should explain, first remember I am drunk   so if your name does not appear in a category it is for no other reason than I forgot, and not because you are not interesting, or any personal reasons, its just because I have buckie memory.   
Secondly, both categories and nominees in each are open to discussion and suggestions- this is by no means the finished lists, but we need toget the categories sorted as soon as possible.

Well crabbit covers a lot Blue not just swearing. You shjould be honoured ot bein the most preigous category and th emost important award of the night.

Mind you its just more competition for me, and this is worthy of crabbit!    So if you really object I can always remove you from the list   

I'f I am to be nominated for most liberal, I want to have my name in the most crabbit category as well, just so people will know where I draw the line (which is between LotR and TH for anyone in doubt)

Maybe a new category is needed for people like Norc and Ringo who feel both purist and liberal.
