Re: News from the set
Thats comments from Cumberbatch, Evangeline, and Fry which either sound like they dont know what they are talking about (a bit worrying), or point at PJ doing even more terrible things to TH than he did to LotR's. (even more worrying)

He actually is a really cool guy beneath all the layers of characters.
probebly not me either but! one should take these things seriously! naah.. I'm not upset with him, not seriously at least.
At least dear Norc, you did not react as I did when new here, Orwell's words wounded me, or I let them wound me and I went away for a while. But I think he is really a dear person with a kind heart. Just maybe a bit crabbit now and then, and the stress of his job perhaps. But he is a dear.

I am, leelee, an inveterate prankster, baiter, joker and clown. Pleeeease don't think I'm somehow anti-social because of the stress of my job!
As to poor Norc - she reacted totally out of proportion to what I was saying - took the bull by the horns not realizing initially she'd grabbed a goat's tail. She unfortunately misread what I said, then insulted me, then felt better - and less passionately - about things, and then became nice to me again, and I couldn't ask more of her in the circumstances.
I do appreciate you're defense of me leelee, but honestly, it's not required - and a tiny bit off the mark, and I don't mean that nastily. Yes I have a kind heart (at times ) but, no I am not often anything but 'mock' crabbit - with an occasional exception, because I'm a little hobbit, mortal you know, and therefore not entirely perfect.

Re: News from the set
sorry Norc but it wasnt funny at all, you insulted Orwell when he was joking with you. But lets not dwell on things, and not make rash comments without thinking of others feelings first. Its all over and hope there are no hard feelings. yikes feelings, such tricksy articles.

I hope there are no hard feelings, I understand he might have gotten hurt but that wasn't at all my intend. No hard feelings from me at least.
No, shouldn't be jumping to conclusion. I did know he was joking, but so was I kind of too. but we've cleared up, I think, in another thread.
Orwell, I am sorry! u're no idiot (I just forget that u are may not as used to our harsh viking way of speaking, we call each other names, when we really don't mean them.)

Re: News from the set
I was referring primarily to Norc since Orwell keeps trying to explain himself to her.

Norc wrote:u're no idiot
At risk of opening certain CASE slightly ajar for a moment, the 'u're an idiot' comment was funny and did not offend me in the least. But I'm not going the ''explanations' route again, as it's a poor method, just not my way, and tends to cause molehills to grow into mountains - and who needs giant molehills in Forumshire?
Anyhow, I've spoken to my psycholgist and taken some lovely pills - ooooh! there are some pretty yellow, red and green ones that you can make smiley faces with before you take them - and they do make you feel good - if you like riding pink unicorns through multi-coloured cellophane cities and singing Matilda Mother with dearly departed Syd Barratt.
Case Closed (again ).

Last time you get an invite to one of my slumber parties then, Petty Tyrant! We were going to roast marshmellows and play Britney Spier videos at the next one... ... ... Or were we going to roast Bitney Spiers and dance with marshmallows? Either way, you're the loser!

Re: News from the set
quote from The Hobbit's facebook page.
Hobbits rejoice! Peter Jackson assures us that the upcoming films will be visually and tonally consistent with The Lord of the Rings trilogy and will include a bit of humor thrown in as well. Do you have any favorite funny lines from the LOTR movies?

DISCUSS! is it a good thing? PJ's humour?

Re: News from the set
It depends on whether Jackson tries to preserve Tolkien's original humor or substitutes his own style. I'd like seeing more of the book but if the "funny lines from the LOTR movies" are any indication than I'm not excited to see more of Jackson's humor. I think the signs we've seen so far indicate that that PJ will be including his own jokes, especially with Bombur, but hopefully we'll see some of Tolkien's too.
Re: News from the set
To be fair, Bombur was made fun off for being fat by Tolkien in the books, in fact he was made fun of most of all of them! And if there's anything I can approve of of PJ's it would have to be his humor. The funny parts in LOTR are some of my favorite! (sadly )
