Is there a 'Most watched' button Eldo?- if so click that uk tv should be the third down on the list (or is on mine) 'UK live tv.'

I tried that and I'm seeing a lot of country/language options but nothing for the UK, sorry.
Re: Doctor Who [6]
Mmm, weird, hope it works for the Fjordians at least and Norc can get her Who and Sherlock fixes without delay.
Are there other euro channels? French? German? Italian ect?

Re: Doctor Who [6]
There was a Russian one and maybe a few others. There's probably just different versions of the sites for different countries. It definitely knew I was an American because it kept offering local US channels as the top option.
Re: Doctor Who [6]
Bugger- wonder if there is a way to make it think you are elsewhere?
This is what I get when I go there-
Its odd I get the US channels if you dont get the UK ones.

Re: Doctor Who [6]
I got an ad and a never ending 'Loading...' screen, which looks familiar. Wonder if Norc linked to this once? Perhaps it was different streaming site.
But the link did lead to BBC1.

At least its there- but what Peter Capaldi thing Norc?
So looks like its just the UShobbits that will have to miss out on as broadcast Who and Sherlock (not to mention all the 50th anniversary stuff, documentaries, specials and goodness knows what else) wonder if it works for the Ozhobbits-them being proper subjects and all.

Re: Doctor Who [6]
A Tale of Two Clara's- a musing
- Spoiler:
Been re-watching all the Clara episodes- and whilst I can say Ive warmed to her lot more I think Ive spotted the problem. There are two versions of Clara- you can even divide the series up into episodes based on which version is in which.
There is Victorian Clara- from the Snowmen but that 'version', her manner of speaking and her personality also seem to be the Clara in Hide and Nightmare in Silver.
However if you only watch Bells of St John, Rings of Akhenten, Cold War, Journey to Centre of the Tardis and Name of the Doctor - you get a consistent modern Clara (left out Crimson Horror as she isnt in it very much).
There may well be a reason for this, which is that the original idea for Clara was she would be the Victorian version always, and as episodes are written about a year before hand the change to there being a modern Clara doesnt seem to have filtered through to all the episodes.
The most blatant for my money is Gaimans Nightmare in Silver, where he has said he wrote it originally for Victorian Clara- what I dont understand is why after the change was made to modern Clara Jenna Coleman plays her in Nightmare exactly as she did the Victorian version, right down to the short, clipped manner of speaking.
I rather like modern Clara, but when you watch the series in full and in order she seems inconsistent episode to episode as the victorian version keeps popping up where she shouldnt be every few episodes

Re: Doctor Who [6]
Departing Doctor Who star Matt Smith has given incoming Time Lord Peter Capaldi his official seal of approval after a slap-up meal.
After talking Tardis for over two hours, he now reckons Peter can become the best Doctor yet.
Matt revealed the pair met up last Friday at the Royal Opera House GQ afterparty.
He told me: “I really rate Peter – he’s such an amazing actor and completely right for the part. We went out for lunch to talk Doctor tactics. I’m not sure if I gave him any real ideas because it’s not like he needs much help. He’ll play the Doctor in his own way – and do it brilliantly.
“I can’t wait to see what he does with the part.”- Daily Mirror

Interesting way to look at it. After some recollection I think I can partly agree with you - it's true that you can see her Victorian version very clearly in Nightmare in Silver, but I don't think that you can see it that much in Hide - but I might have to watch it again; I'm not entirely sure...

Re: Doctor Who [6]
- Spoiler:
- Its much less pronounced in Hide, but still there. I also suspect in Gaimans original script the two kids in his episode were the two Victorian kids, which explains some of their dialogue and also the slightly clumsy way they find out about Clara right at the end of the previous episode.
Watching Name of the Doctor again- and I may have spotted something, something if I am (for the first time ever with Moffat) right would be a huge spoiler, or just a huge Moffat red herring.
- Spoiler:
- When the Doctor enters the tomb TARDIS for the first time he looks about and says "Yowzer!"- there is only one other time in Moffat era Who he uses that word, and its not exactly him who uses it- its the flesh version in Rebel Flesh, and the real Doctor pulls him up on it a bit embarrassed and says "We dont tend to say yowzer".
So is the Doctor in NotD the flesh version?

Re: Doctor Who [6]
"A rare Auton carnival mask from the Third Doctor story Terror of the Autons fetched more than £5,000 when it was auctioned on eBay.
After 51 bids the prop - which was only available to buyers in the UK - finally went for £5,154 when the sale ended on Thursday 5th September just after 10.25pm.
The carnival masks were worn by the Autons to disguise their true nature as they handed out deadly plastic daffodils to unsuspecting members of the public.
The four-part adventure started Jon Pertwee's second series as the Doctor. Written by Robert Holmes and directed by Barry Letts, it aired between 2nd and 23rd January 1971. Not only did the story feature the second appearance of the Autons in the show, it also marked the debuts of Katy Manning, Roger Delgado, and Richard Franklin as, respectively, Jo Grant, the Master, and Captain Mike Yates."- Gallifrey Base
I bet when the BBC props department knocked it together for about a quid they never thought it would sell for 5 grand!

Re: Doctor Who [6]
- Spoiler:
- I think you are right about Clara, the Victorian version is arch and harder, while the modern version is softer and less stagey actressy. I prefer her Victorian wardrobe and the look of the steampunk episodes, but I prefer her modern persona, although she hasnt made much of an impression on me, she is nice but a bit empty, she lacks that mysterious x factor

OMG - this is the kind of creepy stuff that freaks me out -Semiramis
Thats Moffat Who for you, does tend one towards theories and looking for stuff that might be something, or not...
There are are several pieces I am really looking forward to on the series 7 soundtrack- Amy and Rorys' rooftop piece from Angels in Manhattan, the pocket dimension choral theme from Hide, Clara's theme and Rings of course , and the deliberately Morricone like take on I am the Doctor from a Town Called Mercy among several others- I thought series 7 was a good year for Murray Gold on Who- better than 6 (not that it was bad but thee seemed less completely new stuff).
