Thanks Chris- Heres the youtube-

Interesting its BBC worldwide- its unlikely therefore to be anything to do with the Big Finish classic Doctors anniversary get together- as the BBC dont promote those.
All the dialogue is from classic fourth Doctor episodes- there is no new dialogue recorded for it- but they clearly did make the props and shot them for the video.
Interesting.

Eldo meant to aks- did you ever watch the River vid?
Still very keen to know what youd make of it without having watched the episodes unfold.

Heres the links again (not to be pushy just to save you going looking for them if you do decide to watch, well and a bit pushy Wink  )

And yes, I am amazed they are still there too. Shocked

The remake of the original TARDIS console made for Gatiss' Time and Space origins of Doctor Who drama.

Doctor Who [6] - Page 4 Empty Re: Doctor Who [6]

Post by Pettytyrant101 Tue Jul 09, 2013 1:26 am

This is  a post from Gallifrey Base made by  J'mann Seelo. Its is in response to the thread topic suggesting that series 7 has divided fandom more than any other series, its spot on and sums up Who fans perfectly (and explains how Figgs and I can have such a different view of Moffats and RTD's eras)-

'I think the reason is that some people want to pretend it's more divisive than ever when it's actually not.

1) Last season, the arc was too intrusive and overly complicated, with too much time spent on River Song.

2) The season before, it was too much like RTD's era for some, while not enough like RTD's era for others. Amy was a heartless bitch, and the Fatleks were an abomination.

3) The sort-of-season before that, there weren't nearly enough episodes (is Doctor Who on the road to cancellation?), the tone was too self-congratulatory, and the Doctor was too emo.

4) The season before that, Donna was too shouty and annoying, RTD was running out of ideas, and there were too many "Deus ex machina" endings. Oh, and Rose came back, ruining her initial ending and proving that RTD only cares about 1 character.

5) Before that, Martha's incessant pining for the Doctor was lame, as was the Doctor's pining for Rose (will RTD ever get over that character?). That, and the Master was completely ruined. RTD hates Doctor Who.

6) Before that, the Doctor and Rose were far too smug and irritating, the Doctor falling in love was an abomination, too much time was spent on modern day Earth and Tennant's Doctor was too much of a heartthrob.

7) Even in the new series' very first year there were burping bins and farting aliens, the Doctor wasn't eccentric enough and was too ineffective, there was too much focus on Rose and her supporting cast.....

Do I really need to keep going with McGann, McCoy, C. Baker, etc?

Doctor Who has always divided fandom. It's the natural result of it changing with every new showrunner, not to mention lead actors. To act as if it's more divided now than ever is to let one's subjective opinion override the objective evidence.'

Publicity pic of David Bradley playing Wiliam Hartnell, playing the Doctor!
From Gatiss drama about the shows early days-

Doctor Who [6] - Page 4 Image_zpse441f752

Not bad at all- if he gets the mnannerisms down too should be good.

And this rather delightful tale from Gattiss about recreating the original TARDIS console room-

'It was obviously very important for us to recreate the original TARDIS as closely as possible. Actually a strange thing happened: in the original series when you go through the doors there are brass pillars which had been hired from a prop company called Trading Post 50 years ago. The design team went back to Trading Post and asked if they had anything like this, and they said "what, those, over there?" - the same ones from the original show! So we just put them back where they used to be!'

No-not yet- dont think its got a transmission date yet- my guess would be the week before the anniversary episode, but that is just a guess.

Eldo not to bug you, but Im going to anyway- have you had a chance to watch the River Song vid yet? Its miraculously all still there, but I cant see that lasting forever(as are sevral bits of the lotrs edits including- the 1st 2 hours of fotr (but missing the rest, and the first hour of book 3 and the last 20 mins or so of book 3)

Evil or Very Mad How dare you prioritize real life!! Evil or Very Mad

Now I need another volunteer. Mad Anyone got no intention of watching series 5,6 and 7 of Doctor Who and therefore doesnt mind it being spoilered to buggery?
If so your who I need to find out if its possible to watch this and make any sense of it, with no prior knowledge.

The first of two nights of Doctor Who at the Proms from the Albert Hall was last night- its on the iplayer-radio 3- if you have access.
Norc-check the usual folder on the skydrive some time tomorrow evening.
