my life is so boring and non-sherlock at the moment that iread this article http://wellingtongoose.tumblr.com/post/47812328023/a-day-in-the-life-of-dr-watson which masically describe what the job watson started on in ep. 2 season 1 is all about ....

Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
also there is a new violin for series 3.
Front and rear views of the violin that will appear onscreen in Sherlock Series Three.
Earlier today, Sherlock production designer Arwel Wyn Jones posted an image on his Twitter account that revealed the violin that Sherlock Holmes will be playing during Series Three, and Sherlockology is excited to provide a closer look at this crucial new prop.
All the images you see in this story are of the actual instrument selected for use on screen.
Before anyone panics, the need for a new violin in Series Three is not a plot point. Sherlockology has a promise to both our readers and the crew that produces the show that we will never impart plot spoilers ahead of a new episode's broadcast. Instead, the presence of this new instrument is needed purely from a production point of view, and a different violin has been used on each series of Sherlock.
Front, profile, and rear close ups of the Neck, Peg Box and Scroll of the Series Three violin.
In Series Three, Sherlock Holmes will be seen using a Con Fuoco violin, which like its predecessors has been supplied by Cardiff Violins for the production. Surprisingly, despite appearances the instrument is brand new rather than vintage. It is styled after a Mittenwald violin as originally made in Germany, but its name means "with fire" in Italian due to the beautiful reddy-brown, flame like body colours and its fiery, warm tone of sound.
The Con Fuoco violin is available exclusively from Cardiff Violins for a set price of £1,200, but this specific example was carefully chosen for use for the production due to its uniquely beautiful appearance and distinctive sound. The staff at Cardiff Violins also reasoned that Sherlock would not be too snobbish about buying a German violin, thinking that he would probably have quite enjoyed annoying the 'buy British' league!
As a side note, it's not yet been confirmed at present whether Eos Chater is returning to coach Benedict Cumberbatch on the instrument for any onscreen performances in the new episodes,as she did for his use of the violin in Series Two.
Sherlock's violins from Series One (left) and Series Two (right).
The Con Fuoco is actually made in China, as was the Czardas violin that appeared in Series One, but unlike the violin that appeared in Series Two. That instrument really was a vintage violin, made in Germany by an unknown manufacturer around 1880. You can read more about both the Series One violin andSeries Two violin in the Props section of our website.
Our huge thanks to the staff of Cardiff Violins for supplying us the information and photography for this piece.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
nope, not yet, IMDB seems to have put something up, but according to Sue Vertue, it's not legit, so still no idea. But autumn/late autumn probably
Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
Id guess Moffats Who schedule needs to be cleared- as far as I am aware they are still working on the 50th episode.
So I would guess they would get that out the way before moving on full to Sherlock publicity and promoting.
And it lets Cumberbum fufill his film plugging duties for ST before hand and Freeman to do TH PR come the end of Nov/Decemeber.
So I'd put my money on autumn too- end of summer but before November when the Who 50th stuff starts.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
I've set my personal guess at another January broadcast solely because I don't want to be disappointed if we don't see series three until the New Year, but it's encouraging to hear that we could see it this Autumn.
Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
I'm guessing based on the usuall sort of turn around time between filming and broadcasting for the BBC which is usually within 6 months (The Who 50th is a good example, filming now, post work over the summer, screens for nov 3rd- and although Moffat Sherlock had more post effects than the average detective story I'd guess Who has a lot more, so no reason Sherlock shouldn't be ready come autumn).

yeah, well, i'm probably gonna wait until about that time, i think NRK have to wait, not a year like HBO, but at least some months before broadcasting it here.
Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
Once series three starts airing we should probably have a spoiler thread so that the people who have seen it can discuss it openly.
Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
yepp. good idea. also, can someone tell me if those posters are legit or not? like a new scarf?
Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
Well they arent on the BBC official site.
However if you go to their gallery for series 3 there is only one picture in it- this one-
Blue scarf not red. Make of that what you will Norc!

Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
Well that would be typical BBC to only have an old promo photo on their official series 3 page.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
Well it's the same official site they've always used. They just haven't updated it in like a year.
Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
Which is odd as their Who website is usually pretty up to date.

Re: Sherlock - BBC [2]
spoilers, remember,
I think it might be legit, cus i can't remember those photos, but a redish scarf? i know that colour is like very "in" right now, but.. idk.. blue scarf and black coat with a red button hole is like a trademark. also i made a post earlier about the fact i think it's gonna be a new blue scarf this season (same as it is a new violin for every season) is there any way of seeing if the scarf is photoshoped?
