Re: Doctor Who [4]
I can see that Amy is more interesting, but Rose holds the deeper sex appeal to me.
Of course, this may be just because I've seen Billie Piper naked with a lot going on in her head in Diary of a Callgirl.

Re: Doctor Who [4]
Dunno where Jodie foster comes into things- Mr Urine is apparently some sort of muso, I'm sure all wholesome family stuff. (And no, he hasnt been in Who)
Where any of this connects to Amy Ponds obvious superiorty in every way over Rose I've no idea.
{{{{{Ps Halfy you do know its mainly a body double in Call Girl- hell last series she did they could only shoot her from the neck down as she was about 7 months pregnant at the time! }}}

I just found out that this year we can reuse calenders from 1963! this means:
THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY WILL BE ON THE SAME DAY OF THE WEEK THE SHOW FIRST STARTED
THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY WILL BE ON THE SAME DAY OF THE WEEK THE SHOW FIRST STARTED
Re: Doctor Who [4]

The viewing Is going quite well. I still thoroughly enjoy the series and I manage at least an episode per day, usually more on weekends. I'm currently on the 10th or 11th episode of series 2. My favorite episodes so far have been the WWII arc in series 1, as well as the 2 finale episodes

Re: Doctor Who [4]
So given a choice between Amy Pond and Rose Tyler, which would you rather take to the Pub, Petty?
I would prefer Rose. She is loyal brave and teaches the Doctor the meaning of love. Amy is a bland wooden vacuous empty vessel of male desire. Rose is not loud or vulgar, she is real, down to earth and the best friend he ever had.
No contest- I'll take the hard drinking, slightly psychotic, beguiling beautiful mixed up Amy Pond every time over the big mouthed chav that is Rose Tyler- plus Rose comes with an even more annoying mother.
A tough choice indeed. Amy is, as far as the first series of her at least, a very wooden character. Rose isn't.
Amy looks nicer, Rose not so much.
A trip to the pub for laughs and giggles and a right good time - Rose.
A trip to the pub for romance and tickles - Amy.

Aye well, if you are judging them on actor basis and not character - still a tough choice.

Re: Doctor Who [4]
Interesting.
I can look at both of them objectively because I dont fancy one of them like Petty does. I am going off the quality of the acting and the emotional richness they bring to the series. For me Rose wins hands down. If Amy is as Petty says hard drinking and pscychotic, it makes her a weaker and more needy individual. It reduces her to damsel in distress, indeed she never does much, just run about. Rose saves the Doctors life the first time they meet, and goes on to save the world on a regular basis. Amy just waits passively for the Doctor to save her on a regular basis. For me Rose is a good role model for young girls she certainly wouldnt turn to drink as she is strong and confident, she wouldnt just passively let her body get taken over and impregnated like Amy does. I find Moffats women problematic to say the least.
Amy is eye candy, sweet but it rots your teeth after a bit. and when Petty can seperate his hormones from the equation he will see I am right.

Re: Doctor Who [4]
Funny, my choice for Rose is based mainly on hormones, Billie Piper at least oozes sexuality, though she corked it somewhat in her portrayal of Rose. I actually haven't seen enough of either character to make a fair judgement, admittedly. (I'm also a sucker for dark eyebrows with blonde hair).

i was basing it upon character since the question originally was characters.

I always fancy myself until I see video or hear audio of myself. Then I have to crawl away and empty my brain before I can face anyone again.
