Thanks Norc- I am always very interested in what people think of them and sometimes use the feedback to improve the edits.
But as you are one of the people who enjoy the original trilogy I am particularly interested in how you see them, not all but most folk who have watched them so far are people who for one reason or another really did not like parts of the original. So you can offer a different perspective.

Yup- send me your email- you get an email -follow the link in it to my skydrive- download the edit you want to see-extract the video file- delete the files you downloaded (optional) watch the film.

Works like a charm Sound is in synch and quality looks great

Petty, I just want to say that I've been working slowly through the flashdrive as time allows. I've been watching LotR for fun and to relax rather than for critique, though the Dr Who has been distracting me from the LotR recently. Also, I need to drag the box to a hi-speed connection to download VLC because a few of the file types are giving me troubles.

My hope is to eventually find the time to watch all 6 of the LotR segments back to back so I can get a clear feeling for how the narrative flows before I comment on individual scenes. The restored narrative flow to the story is what impressed me the most about your earlier edit.

I wish there was an easy way to fuse all 6 together into one seamless movie like you did with the first one I saw. Then I wouldn't have an excuse to go to bed.

Good to know your still wathing- I would definetly recommend vlc player. What are you using at the moment?

Also if you have to blow off the edits for anything Who is a bloody good excuse (classic or Nuwho? I demand your thoughts on the Who thread!)

I've been using the Media Player that comes with Windows 8. I'll be happy when I can get to a real connection and to upgrade to VLC.

As for the Who, you sent me one 4th, then a lot of 10th which I'm working through now. I think there are a bunch of 11th too, but they're of a file extention that the Media Player doesn't recognize, so they'll have to wait for VLC for that too.

There's also some Black Adder, the LotR radio drama, and a Robin Hood series I'm not sure quite what to make of. All together it will keep me busy for quite a few evenings!

Yeah sadly Media player is one of the worst payers out there.
Fortunetly vlc is a small program in comparison and shouldnt be too much hassle to download, even with a crappy connection.

Id forgotten Id put the Blackadder on there- the final series I think- superb stuff.
Robin of Sherwood- the best version of the Robin Hood story ever told imo.

I assume the 4th Doctor story was Genesis of the Daleks. Have you seen i yet?
And I cant remember which 10th Doctor eps I gave you- all Moffats I'd imagine-Empty Child/Doctor Dances/ Girl in the Fireplace/Blink ect and I imagine a few choice others like Family of Blood.

All the Moffat episodes I provided are generally considered by any Who poll of any era to be among the top 20 episodes.
You really think I shouldnt have given him Blink, or The Empty Child? (I believe one of your favourite 9th Doctor stories)

just kidding. keep your sporan on. but you need to give anyone the option of the full monty just for continuity and shit. Donna episodes shouldnt be missed

There wasnt room on the mem stick- I was just filling out the space left over from putting the edits on it rather than leave empty space- so I had to choose epiosdes- hence 1 classic, a smattering the generally best accepted of 9 and 10 and I think I included all of (or most of) Smith's first year simply because unlike previous series of NuWho its essentially one big story that all episodes are a part of, making it tricky to pick or watch just individual episodes.

Plus I had to leave room for the final series of Blackadder (tough choice there between final series and series 2- which is probably the funniest- but 4 is so poignant and I thought would appeal to Dave more) and Robin of Sherwod- which any one who likes fantasy and adventure and a bit of mystic pagan worship should not miss. The first 2 series anyway which is what I gave David I think.
I didint want to give him just who- you never know he might have turned out to be one of those odd people who dont like it!

ps Dave have you had the opportunity to watch any Who with an audience of varies ages?- if you have young kids, grandkids, neices or nephews anywhere from 6 upwards I would recommed it- the shows great still as a an adult but its even more fun an experience when the kids end up behind the sofa or sitting in complete silence with eyes and mouth equally agog.
I love when I get the chance to watch with my nieces, and it has made me appreciate another side to Matt's performance, which is his appeal to children- my nieces trust and adore the Doctor in exactly the same way I did as a child. If the Doctor had led me into a room full of Daleks back then I'd have been terrified out my wits, but I'd Ive gone because I was with the Doctor.
Seeing that again in my brothers kids is such a joy.
It must be the only show left in modern, made by committee tv, without a demographic. Who's demographic is breathing and concious.

baldrick was actually cleverer than edmund and that makes s1 the best
