Finally Book 1 is finished uploading, and only a day behind schedule.

Now onto book2- which is almost twice as long!

Fianlly got round to fininshing uploading the replacement book 2

I think I will skip ahead and replace book 5- it has a major change I know some (Ringdrotten in particular) have been hoping for- with the fixing of the Gandalf/Witchking scene- whereas the changes to the rest of the books are so minor only Id probably notice them anyway.

Very happy to hear that, Petty I'll not be able to download it until I get home for christmas, though, as the internet speed I'm having these days barely allows me to browse online newspapers

Well, ok, not entirely yours, also everyone else who has also watched them. And I supose, reluctantly, I should have spotted it too..

The lighting of the beacons sequence- its the wrong bloody order.
In my edit it comes immediately on the first cut away from the attack on Osgiliath- that scene ends duing the night.
The beacons sequence should go night to day. Not DAY to night!
Why didnt you tell me?! I mean- I was drunk.
Anyway the upshot is I need to resplace that scene so the sequence goes the right way round and redo the music track for it.
And remember I am blaming you for this extra work. All of you!

Good news! I fixed the beacons scene and I did a litle extra tweaking on the Gandalf/Witchking scene so Im now very happy with it- keeps the essence of the book confrontation but doesnt have the stupid staff breaking ect.

Just outputting it now, then need to break it up then upload it.

Its going to be close Ringdrotten but might have it ready for you yet.

Did you make the connection between the Witch King's retreat and the arrival of Rohan more clear? I think that connection was fumbled in the movie.

Does bring to mind the interesting point that in the book the gate was busted, but even though the witch king retreated you might have expected an influx of eager knuckleheads since at that point most of the defense had retreated past the second gate and the defenders around the first gate were all up on the wall. No mention of first circle mayhem in the book.

Without the chucking Gandalf off his horse bit it makes it much clearer I would say that he leaves because of the arrival of the Rohirrim and hearing the horns. (Im tempted to put a cockrel crowing in there too!).

In the book I imagine if the Witch-king is your commanding officer and he says withdraw from the Gate you do as your told.
Also I would think the main courtyard, if still defended from above, would be a killing ground.
In the book the enemy doesnt get into the city-only the witch-king.
Its on fire but its not overrun.

erm when you do the edit of the Hobbit. there wont be much to save. how will you do the goblin town section? I think I would actually like to see a purist edit of the Hobbit. get rid of the whole Azog crap, most of goblin town, the snotty Trolls, bunny sleds whizzing round, Nazguls, Galadriel looking like a wooden version of Sharon Stone. phew theres so much.

Sounds great, Petty Can't wait to see the Witch King scene - it has been my biggest issue with RotK since I saw it for the first time. Owning Gandalf like that - it's worse than ten bunny sleds put together
