Well I may have an opportunity to go see it tomorrow night in my local cinema- 24fps and 2d. But as my mates are either all working or were so put off by LotR's (believe it or not Im not the biggest crabbit over those films that I know- I have a friend who was so horrified he wont even watch my edits as he cant bear to see anything of the films again) means Id be goingon my own- hate going to cinema on my own- feels weird.

Not available tomorrow night who want to go- no.
I had arranged to go to Glasgow to see it with some mates- but thats more than a week away- and as its a day trip out we'd figured on going the whole hog and seeing it either in full 48 3D or possibly even imax.

But can I wait a week? Or do I go on my own tomorrow?

anyhow, I kind would like one day to go alone to the theatre and see a movie... i think it would be a strange yet nice experience. just you and the movie.. and thousands of others... but you can like digest the movie on your own...

I dont mind going to the flicks on my own. I sometimes get more annoyed with the person Im with, if he or she doesnt "get" the film, & I have to explain every bloody thing!

I dont have one. I could take a cat. That way a least there would almost ceraintly be someone there more crabbit than me.

Azriel I never used to mind it when I lived in the city, I often used to go on my own on a whim- but in my small local cinema where Im likely to know or be known by half the people there its all a bit weirder I find.
And there is someting rather depressing about being asked about 20 times in a row; "on your own are you?" Mad

I know what Id say..."no, Im here with my friend"..then point to an empty seat, & say.."cant you see him?" Works with strangers,as they think your weird & leave you alone.

I like going to see a film for the first time with someone, but as I saw LOTR many times, I had to go on my own for the second and third and fourth time. and I couldnt tell anyone cos I thought they would think I was bonkers going a zillion times. Very Happy

There in lies the problem- not strangers people I know, worse, people who would then talk to other people I know, and even worse, my family- and say things like "Saw your boy at the cinema the othernight, on his own. Pretended to have an imaginary friend.'- I have enough trouble already without that too I can assure you.

I prefer to go alone myself. It's a personal journey: you're not gonna be talking to them during the movie, are you?? In fact it's a little rude to spend two or three hours pointedly ignoring someone. You don't need anyone to watch TV with, do you? If you're with someone and you want to think about the movie afterwards, your damn companion usually wants to talk about it. Annoying.

I like going to the theatre with other people. Then again, I enjoy the whole experience of going to the theatre in general on top of watching the actual movie. I go on my own if I no one is interested or can make it. I've never felt awkward doing that, even though it isn't my favorite way to go to the movies.

Also, Petty, you can't really make us wait a week to find out how crabbit the film made you, can you? Sad

Absolutely agree! I've been counting on a crabbitmeter reading before I go in on Sunday. Would it be fair to send me into harm's way without instrumentation?

I do feel the weight of reponsibility- there's a whole team of NotP Boffins ready to go taking the readings for their review special edition and offical crabbit meter results beakdown.
Do I have enough buckie to cope thats the question?
Got to be a careful balance you know- enough to prevent a complete explosion occuring, destroying all the equipment, but not so much I get thrown out for trying to buy tickets from a life size poster of Gandalf and getting very crabbit at his seeming reluctance to not sell me any.

I didn't ignore my frirends. I kept looking at my sis with a knowing look and we like hehe... yeah Very Happy

I don't know if you guys are familiar with the internet game Marry/Fuck/Kill but some reporter for MTV asked Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, and Andy Serkis that question about several Middle-earth characters. They actually took it quite seriously. Laughing
