Im not sure yet Eldo- if its unbearably bad then no- I'll not be paying PJ twice for the pleasure.
Although I am intrigued by the tech I may wait till some other film tries it (if any do now) and see it in a film whose content would be less upsetting.

The next film to definitely be in HFR will be Avatar 2. James Cameron has been talking about shooting that in 60fps for a long time.

That might not be encouraging to you, though.

Speaking of which, by following the related links on that article I came to this MTV video. I don't know if you guys are familiar with the internet game Marry/Fuck/Kill but some reporter for MTV asked Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, and Andy Serkis that question about several Middle-earth characters. They actually took it quite seriously.

Ayup Jason...

Although the Dwarven Bag End sequence is long-ish, it's not all bad. All the 'How Smaug came to the Mountain and laid it waste' story is told from the Dwarves POV in the first ten minutes or so, and so is not needed again. The washing-up song 'Carefully, carefully with the plates !' is whimsical and light, as it should be, with even Gandy coming across as a bit of a chancer, but it's OK. Thing is, all that Levity is done with before we see Thorin for the first time, all Sarky and Serious and Dismissive.

I'd have to agree with Norc when she says overall that 'The story is bad, Visuals are great'. that's 'The Hobbit' in a Nutshell. But we sorta knew that already. I didn't see what I WENT to see, but there was nothing I could ever do about that, and in the end sorta 'Had to' enjoy what i did, because that's what I was given. To compensate though, there are a few Gems sprinkled in there. But not enuff for me ! Apart from some really Shit stuff like the Great Goblin. (He was truly TERRIBLE, but not in any Literary sense). we have to take what we have and work with it. But God-knows what we're gonna get in the next Exciting installment... My mind's boggling already... I agree though with what one critic already said. Release the next parts ASAP, and let's Digest it all in its entirety, and then we can help eachother get over the Stomach Ache...

On a Spoiler note, the funniest, most Farcical thing I saw in that whole Movie was Thranduil, (sorry, Julian Clary in Joan Collins Fan Club mode) at the Lonely Mountain the day Smaug arrived, riding a Frickin' MOOSE, a God-dammed Freekin' Canadian fookin Moose ! LOL X 1000,000 ! it was SO camp and Unnecessary ! And its making me laugh as I type, LOL. you should go see the film for that reason alone mate.
