No probs. Trying to get the rest up for you before Friday- but tried to upload 10 bits last night it crashed out after 3 or 4!

There's always a new problem to replace the solved one - any idea why my external hard drive still thinks there's too little space on it even after I deleted 40 GB? The four books are alltogether 25 gigs, so I should have plenty to spare

Such a busy night. I dinae knen ma erse frae ma elbow! Friends and buckie certainly do mix but do delay helping problem solve you know.
Its possible Ringdrotten the files were not properly deleted and are just appearing to be- if you have a decent uninstaller program (other than windows) - I use Your Uninstaller (the free trial version should do it) it should have the option to give it a clean and get rid of anything that is lingering on there and taking up hidden space.

Will this uninstaller remove everything from the HD or just the files that are lingering from the apparently unsuccessful deletion?

Scratch that, it appears the deletion was successful after all, but that the problem lies with the film itself. But that's a good thing since I can copy all the different parts instead and extract them on my laptop By the way, when I've finished extracting, do I then need to have the parts saved on the laptop? It's not got that much free space left on it, so it would be nice if I could delete them once the films are ready.

Once you have extracted the film and have a video file you longer need the individual bits you downloaded-you can get rid of them.

I'm hoping to get book5 all uploaded tonight Ringdrotten-all going well- so far got 60 parts out of 75 up so going to try for unprecedented 15 tonight in the hope you can grab them before you head off homewards or at the least have them awaiting you on your arrival.

Awesome I have downloaded the sixty parts currently there, so if you get the rest up it shouldn't take long to get the rest down and extracted.

Supposed to upload 10 parts overnight- but it stopped after only a few!! Up to part 66 so far- it does three at a time so parts 67,68,69 are uploading now and are about a third through (at least an hour to go) ill keep uploading as fast as I can Ringdrotten, but I'd guess it will be after 4pm GMT before they are all up.

I'll get the rest at home (though at a much slower rate!), so no worries. Thanks for trying, though

Book 5 completed!! And the good news is, Book 6 being the shortest, its only 34 parts.

As for books 1-4: I only got to watch the first two on my way home, and were saving the remaining two for my way back, but just as everything else went to shit this week so did my trip back. I ordered a seat with a power socket, but I didn't get one and my computer battery only lasted for 15 minutes.

The feedback on the first two books will be slightly boring I'm afraid, as I have nothing to argue with! I can't remember a single thing I didn't like. I've commented on many of your changes before, but some things are of course new: the green filter in Lothlorien is beautiful, and Rivendell is better than ever. Aragorn is a whole new and far more enjoyable character in your edits because of how you have rearranged his story. And I wonder, was the Boromir-Legolas-Aragorn conversation new in this edit? You cut some of Boromir's dialogue, something I can't remember from earlier edits but that I liked a lot. I've not got much to add, but I'd still like to say that these two edits were excellent from beginning to end. The editing in your new edits is so smooth I could hardly ever tell you'd cut something or changed the order of scenes, and those few places were I could tell I suspect I could only tell because I have seen the films a million times before. It'll be a long while before I watch Jackson's edits, if it's worth anything

And thanks for the comments on the editiing- that was my main aim in this one, to get it as smooth a watch as possible, so its good to know you think it succeeded.

For those worried about illegal downloading - it's not a torrent, and it's Petty who's uploading (which means he, not you, is the outlaw here ), so there really is nothing to worry about Go ahead, it's well worth it!

Yes, well thanks for that reminder Ringdrotten! But yes, you are quiet right- i am uploading it to my own skydrive and allowing access- the downloader is doing nothing wrong. And what between general life and the tax man they can come for me if they like- I have nothing more to give, save abuse- but I've got a ton of that!

On that, I never thought about it beyond a passing idea that actually I own the extended editions, in fact have had three full versions over time (theatrical adn extended both on video, then individual dvd's before I was bought the box set extended as a pressie) so I am not getting anything I haven't paid for the priviledge of owning!

Exactly Kafria- you arent getting something new, just what you already have paid for, less some bits and with other bits moved around.
