At least you seem to be enjoying it a tad more than you did FotR. The Merry and Pippin scene you have stopped at is one of those I really don't like, but as its the only direct reference to Entdraught and Merry and Pippin's growth spurt (immediately forgotten about afterwards by PJ of course) I left it in.
