It MUST be the un-Extended Version. I am convinced of it! Honest! I'm not mad. I said I wasn't and I'm not. It's somewhere - I know it. My mental picture of him reciting "and in the darkness bind them, in the land of Mordor where the shadows lie" is clear as a bell - and I'm no dingaling as you know! Sadly, I can't find my un-Extended Version. Someone - HELP! Have you got the un-Extended Version, Petty? I bet you do but you are too full of yourself to look, aren't you Petty - aren't you! (I rant it kindly!)

It's somewhere --- yes, NOT in the Extended Version, nor anywhere on Google -- it HAD to be the un-extended version! I'm going to find my copy of the un-Extended Version and show you. I'll show you guys alright! I will!

That was a joke. It's not in Bakshi! Have you got an un-Extended Version? (I really do have a clear recollection of Hugo Weaving as Elrond doing the Ring thingee). You know, an early scene prior to the Party was cut out in the Extended Version - replaced by something else - so what I'm saying is not impossible.

No- but its not in it either anyway. There is nothing cut from the theatrical realease for the extended- thats the point- they are extended not cut!!

Definently not in Bakshi version either just finished checking for it.

What scene prior to the Party? Only time I can recall Elrond appearing before Rivendell is in the prologue. And he doesn't speak except to shout some elvish command.

I edited while you were posting. Reread my last post. There was a short scene removed prior to the Party Scene, 'cause in adding something the context changed and a tiny scene was removed to cater for it. I'd have to find the un-Extended Version to show you that, too. I remember the change struck me (favourably) when I first saw the Extended Version.

I'm pretty sure Elrond recited it at the Council. And stop posting over me!

An outake I saw somewhere? I can't begin to tell you how clearly I remember him doing it.

No, no - some changes from un-Extended to Extended around the set-up time for the Long Expected Party. I recall something bing removed to be replaced by sometghing else. Struck me at the time, as I said, but can't recall now exactly what - this is years ago it happened.

So we have gone from definetly in the film, to just in the unextended, to an outake!

You could have watched all of fellowship from the megaedit in the time its taken you to find a nonexistant scene. This way lies madness Orwell!

I'd have to watch the start of the un-Extended Version for the Party thing. So you checked the un-Extended Version for Elrond's recital? I'm utterly bamboozled? I swear I saw him do it somewhere - because I thought he did not very well! And I saw him do it NOT very well several times... Maybe I am mad.

It was a snipped out scene showing people putting up tents - or was it a snippet of conversation removed between Gandalf and Frodo prior to the actual Party, while it was being set up by the hobbits - I really will have to look again. The only thing aparently being snipped here are brain cells. (memory ones presumably).
Anyone else help out there? Does anyone remember this scene Orwell is on about?

The scene putting up tents is in the prologue, during Bilbo's voice over to Concerning hobbits.
