Actually, I couldn't have... The movie broke at the cinema at the point where Arwen walks into the chamber where the broken sword is kept. I thought. Wow! She's gorgeous - and the film breaks. They gave me a replacement ticket, but I went home, the momernt had been lost.

No I havent. I dont have the theatrical editions to hand and I can't find it online wihtout downloading the whole film- which I am not about to do for the sake of scene you have dreamt up! Elrond does NOT recite the Ring verse in PJ's version, or any other version I know- including the book!!!!

Look. I could be imagining it but it's a VERY POWERFUL imagining. I have the un-Extended Version of the Two Towers - but that doesn't help. I must have it somewhere. I'll have to check again. I want to believe you guys - but, as I've said, I have a strong (possibly imaginary) recollection of it. I'm AMAZED it's not in the Extended Version (I checked too!)

According to the movie scripts at the Council of Elrond website, Elrond did not recite the Ring Verse at any point in any of the films.

They included both extended and theatrical, and I checked all 6. Searched them with the words "one ring" and didn't turn up anything spoken by Elrond. Click on the link in my post above to check it yourself if you want!

Petty asked me come here to soothe Orwell and help him forget his dillusion (I'm good at helping people forget their troubles) but I don't see him. I do hope the poor dear hasn't gone and done anything foolish.

I don't know where my "picture" of Hugo comes from. I'm going to saunter through the Appendixes on my Fellowship DVD's. I can't let go of this until I can sanely decide I'm mad.

Um... not anywhere in the Appendix DVDs that I can readily find. If delusion, I must believe in it fondly, until I get hold of a theatrical release. (If it's not there, I'll have to assume it doesn't exist).

Mind you, I didn't like that imaginary scene, so I should be happy, I guess. But why is the pleasure so hollow?

It doesnt exist. How many times?! Accept it- yu will have to admit finally you were wrong. And then go watch the megaedit-assuming you're not too tired after your date with Pretty.
