- No one knows his name. Or what or when is the only time he would ever tell someone it.
But it may be tied to the Fall of the Silence, the Fields of Treblanor and the Fall of the Eleventh and the Oldest Question in the Universe- 'Doctor Who?'
He was called Simga Theta on Gallifrey, at least when he was at the Time Academy- but its not his real name (in the series 5 ep where River graffittis the oldst clifface in the world with the words 'hello sweetie' the symbols she put below it are Sigma and Theta)

- I don't understand the sudden fuss about his name. Didn't one of the 10th Doctor/Master episodes say that they looked into something... the time vortex or whatever as kids (what ever that means for time lords) and chose their names? The Master chose The Master and the Doctor chose the Doctor.

- The names they take after looking in the Vortex as kids (Time-Tots is in fact the official name of them rather cutely when they are at that stage in the Academy) are not their 'real' names- those names are born out of their own possible futures as they see it in the Vortex and then interpret it according to their own inherent personalities.
Time-Lords can go by quite a few names, none their real ones- as I mentioned the Doctor was at the Academy called Sigma-Theta but thats not his real name either.

A great companion exit I thought. And one of the things those episodes of Who are blessed with is the performance of Bernard Cribbins Wifred, perfectly pitched.
And she plays Donna's distress at the end when she realises what he is going to do spine tinglingly well.

After seeing all season 4, I have changed my mind. Its now my all time favourite season from start to finish. and Tennant is now my favourite Doctor and Donna is now my favourite companion. I kind of fell in love with them together . It was so sad and poignant at the end for all of them. 
I still love Ekky and Rose, but Tennant and Donna were my idea of Who-yness. They were my idea of perfect Who, for me it couldnt get better than that. Journeys End was probably my second favourite episode after Blink. Doctor Donna was brilliant.
