Yeah Jack, zeppelins and a kid in a gasmask.
He also did the Madame Pompadour- another generally considered classic episode of nuwho.
Well I couldnt agree with that- especially not the second half which is very much about Donna too.
And her releationship with the not so bright girl is classic Donna and exemplifies why the Doctor travels with her.

And Moffats style also permeates Sherlock and you like it- so I am not sure what it is about his Who that doesnt click for you- tis odd indeed. I absolutely love it- its like the perfect blend between Nuwho and classic.

it is weird as I absolutely adore Sherlock. Its brilliant. maybe its the story, Sherlock is very modern and slick, its edgy and super cool, the warmth comes from John and Mrs Hudson and Molly.

I just find Moffats Who cold, its missing, for me anyway that quirky warm oddness and humour that I find in RTD Who. Its kind of like when I watched Blue Peter as a kid, you know with home made stuff and Shep the dog, and then turning over and watching Magpie and getting a bit bored and missing something homely and cozy.

I feel his Who is even better than his Sherlock- high praise indeed- I have no idea why his Who stuff doesnt work for you. Its very much in the same style. Hell the Doctor and Sherlock are basically the same charcater- the smartest guy in any room several steps ahead of everyone else. They have even shared dialogue "It must be christmas"_ Sherlock on finding out its a serial murder- a line Smiths Doctor has used more than once.
And the scene in Lets Kill Hitler between him and River in Hitlers office is even shot the same as Sherlock episodes. (The series often share directors as well as writers and locations and props!)

Lol tedious and twitchy- take a look at your gif- by the end of Tennants run his Doctor performance was reduced to a series of face pulls and making ooh noises. Laughing

I should add this in defence of Tennant- when they let him act and didn't give him a script full of face pulling and ooh noises he could be absolutely superb.
This is from some BBC America show on Who and contains spoilers for the best of Tennants specials (by a good way) The Waters of Mars.
I have eluded to this episode before in conversation with Mrs Figg as an exampe of Tennants Doctor going much further than Smiths has (so far) in completely losing the moral plot.

Not a Pertwee era fan really- I like him fine but the Doctor working for the governemnt- part of the establishment- not my cup of tea. His dull middle years!
And a bit to much gadgets for my tastes- when it got to the Whomobile that was more than enough for me!

well my above comment may have been drunken but Im glad to see the sentiment holds true- Turn Left is a fine episode- its become a trademark of Nuwho that the 'doctor-lite' episode of each series tends to become a classic as it forces the writers to think outside the box.

I'm not sure why it comes about, something to do with schedules and contracts I imagine but every series has one episode in which the Doctor basically only gets a cameo in his own show- in that episode slot we have had Blink, Turn Left, the Girl Who Waited- all regarded as among the best of NuWho. Odd but true.

Some new pics for Pond Life - which starts tomorrow at noon (GMT) as part of the build up to the new series.

The New York screening of Asylum of the Daleks was last night- the New York Times said it was 'vast in ambition and cinematic in scope.'
