Re: News from the set [2]
Bard
Evans spoke with Total Film about walking onto set for the first time. “I can’t really describe it,” he said. “When I first arrived I went straight to Bilbo’s house. I saw it on the big screen when I was 21 and there I was, walking around it in costume – a very special moment. I’ll look back on that in 20 years and hopefully be as proud as I am now.”
He went on to say, “There’s slightly more Bard in the movie than is in the novel. Everything in the book is definitely in the film but… [whispers] I’ll have my tongue cut out if I say anything else. Let’s put it this way – I shoot a lot of arrows.”

As a reformed purist (still trying to be optimistic,) I'm hoping he's referring to a heroic role in the Battle of Five Armies. I'm OK with that.
We can count on PJ to give us a spectacle, and to be honest I'm actually looking forward to seeing what he does with Battle. The description in the book leaves a lot of room for spectacle without deviating from the central Bilbo story.

Maybe there'll be an archery contest between him, Legolas, Fili, and Tauriel. And, for the hell of it, Robin Hood will suddenly make a cameo and show them all up!

Re: News from the set [2]
By all accounts Stephen Fry has to eat testicles!
The Huffingtonpost, Entertainment, 18 May 2012. US edition.
Stephen Fry glows about his time on set of "The Hobbit," but he does have one complaint: the catering left something to be desired.
The complaint has nothing to do with any grand spread that the chefs may have put out during filming, of course. Fry is instead talking about the steady diet of grossness that director Peter Jackson had him endure for his role as the Master of Laketown.
"He had me eating testicles... gross appetites," Fry recently told Digital Spy. "I mustn't give too much away but I've got a bald cap and then on top of that a really bad combover wig and this wispy mustache and wispy beard and horrible blotchy skin and disgusting fingernails."
Fry says the character was an opportunity for Jackson to indulge his historic disgusting film impulses. The wizards in "The Hobbit" are quite elegant, while the hobbits themselves have their own dignity. As his Master of Laketown is a shrewd businessman with a deceptive side and one of the least likable characters in the story, Fry was left to do the dirty work.

Ally, I think it's a fairly natural reaction to the subject of eating testicles, especially if you're male
BTW do we know whose testicles???

Lord of the Rings trilogy.
No, but I hope that we get to see Stephen Fry eating testicles. Hopefully the ones of every guy that's ever ignored me, HAAHAHA! Ha! Ha.
No, but seriously, PJ is doing an amazing job. Bravo.

I think this Master of Laketown sounds like a rather handsome and hygenic and healthy with good breath and erm.. loads of carismatic young gentleman.
