It takes me 4mins to drive to work, or 30mins to walk.

Re: Tales of Home [1]
It's 66 F (19 C) here and humidity is only at 38%. A gorgeous day to be outside, especially after having colder weather recently, and it feels even warmer than it is with all the sun. Now if only the hammock was up...
Re: Tales of Home [1]
I honestly don't know what would happen here if we ever saw the relative humidity that low Eldo! Right now it's 65% and that's pretty low for here. Your hammock idea sound perfect! If only...

Re: Tales of Home [1]
Usually (in the summer at least) the humidity is much higher. That's why late spring/early summer is my favorite time of the year, weather-wise. Outside the month of May (and a little bit of April and June) it's either too cold or too humid.

Oh yeah, real jealous.
NB We have camping like that in America too -- my brother is actually quite keen on it -- but I choose to avoid it for a reason.

Re: Tales of Home [1]
nice burn. Believe it or not partially cloudy can make it worse: the UV bounces between the clouds and the ground (especially snow) so you get multiple chances to get hit.
I've got plenty of stories about crapping in the woods, but will restrain myself.

Ive crapped on kilimanjaro several times! Mainly down the good old 'long drops' though.
Good sunburn! Seen lots of people much worse than that today though. I swear one woman had been sun bathing inside a nuclear reactor!!

Today the weather was gorgeous And we went to a Park near us that was hosting a "Medievil Fayre". People were dressed up, showing old skills, like, wood carving, fire building, making chain mail. It was good, & to cap it all, they played Howard Shore's LOTRs music all afternoon ! Loved it !

Re: Tales of Home [1]
Looks like a good day out Azriel. I burn, well instantly the sun rises really. One day of strong sunshine I can go from pale blue to lobser red, and thats with the sunblock on. You dont ever want to see the result if I forget the sunblock, if youve ever watched the Singing Detective you are getting the picture.

Hi Lance, It was a park called Gildredge Park, here in Eastbourne. We have a lovely place called Michelham Priory up the road from me, & they do lots of great things thru the year. September they have a Medievil Festival, everyone dresses up, displays, battle enactment, Archery that you or I can have a go at.Things for sale, all sorts, great fun !
Yes, Petty ! Ive seen "singing Detective"! you poor sod ! but, if you wanna see a full cooked English breakfast straight out of the pan....leave me in sunlight, simmer for half an hour, serve red,raw & steaming, (side salad optional) & still glowing by night fall ! Ive had wild animals lie down near me to keep warm, Ive burnt so much !

Re: Tales of Home [1]
Id love to join a re-enactment group, but I havnt found one near me ? which I find odd,as there is loads of history here ! Id even be happy to make dresses out of old bed sheets ! They had them for sale (I think?) so you can play act when you get home !
