So my twin brother is on his way to be visiting with his 11 year old god-daughter. They took the red-eye and landed at 6 am. It's now 10 am and he's still not here. First they had to return to the terminal to retrieve the kid's phone (got lucky there), now something screwy is going on with the subway, and he must be stuck in a tunnel because he's not responding to cell phone.

Ideally they should have been here 2 hours ago. Twins. Rolling Eyes

Yeah, part of it was they stopped for breakfast and never bothered to tell me. Mad

Like a friggin' oven today. Hottest 2 days in the last 7 years and he comes along and nails both of them. Kids don't do well in the heat, but by night time as we were hiking along the highline she had perked up.

You should know better than that. Wisdom is not additive, it's subtractive. You put two halfwises together, you're going full retard (name the film). You put the kid in there, you've got nowhere to go but up. So the three of us together have the intellectual capacity of a heat-addled 11 year old girl.

So my brother and I decide we needed to have a guy's night out. Unfortunately we didn't clear this with the 11 year old ahead of time, who took with ill grace being told she was supposed to fall asleep as we hit the town (actually it was just a local bar). He left the bar early, and when I got in an hour later found her happily being bribed with a box of 40 chicken mcnuggets. Wouldn't life would be grand if all our missteps were this easily bought off?

Construction at the north end of the Highline Park has ended, and they put this thing called The Vessel in it. You have to reserve tickets, which for the moment at least are free. Given that they have at about 10 staff full time I don't know how it can afford to be free, but it's SPECTACULAR.
