First day of winter here in Perth and its a lovely 26 degrees.

{{First of June and its one of those typical Scottish summer days, where if your not careful you can accidentality walk from ground to sky and not notice!



Still do get some dramatic sunrises still, even if not so colourful as have been of late. }}

Lovely warm sunny day here in the South East The only sound is birds singing their beaks off. Had this across the sky for ages, its fizzled away now tho.

Wow, those usually don't last very long.

Really ? Ive seen lots of moon aura's but this Sun aura is very rare, here at least. I count myself lucky then, it was hovering for well over an hour.

While completely unnecessary, it is quite visually impressive to see Marine One and all of its escorts flying the POTUS about.

I can only assume that is basically the point though. We are pulling the red and gold out, he is pulling the steel and petrol out.

This is what comes from having a real camera as opposed to a cell phone, I guess.

Only military stuff flies round here is all supersonic- by time you've heard it its gone! Or your looking the wrong way because the sound is almost impossible to pinpoint to a direction in a land of hills, it just bounces from every direction }}

I hope it isn't supersonic when it flys near you... you might not have any windows left in town and they would be breaking the law most of the time (unless those damn Ruskies are knocking about).

and all you know of it is hearing that tearing of the air sound, and as I said the main problem is working out where it is before its gone, as the sound nearly always comes from a different direction than it actually is, as it just bounces back at you off the hills. More chance of snapping a Golden Eagle. }}

Those at least didn't sound supersonic.

They wouldn't be flying supersonic there.... it would be climbing to or already at altitude.

And you would definitely know the difference if you came across it!!

We were working out on the hill a few years ago, and one team was in the right place to see a fighter fly past below them. He was giving us a nice friendly wave as he went by

So remember the erosion control project I've been working on to save our community? Well I just met with a film crew from RTL Netherlands TV who've decided to do a story on our project while they're out on the west coast. They filmed me and several of the neighbors and they hope to have a story out on us in a month or so. I'm amazed they even heard about us in the first place, let alone want to spend half a day filming us, but I guess erosion is big news in the Netherlands...
