Re: Tales of Home [7]
The best part is when the police flashes their lights just to pull them over to tell them they are awesome.

Re: Tales of Home [7]
I liked the police part too.
I did a bunch of shoveling this afternoon, after other people had made some progress earlier in the day. We got a call from the County's emergency manager explaining/apologizing for why so many streets haven't been plowed yet. Ours got that first pass or two on Friday before most of the snow fell, but we're still snowed in terms of vehicles (you can however walk about 40 meters and get to a plowed street, which one of my step-brothers did to escape to a friend's house ). There'll be even more to shovel off the driveway once the plows have come through, of course.
Looking up the hill and showing the edge of the snowbank:
A sense of snow height as compared to our neighbor's vehicles:
Two of our cars have been dug out from the snow even though they have nowhere to go. These are the ones that haven't:

Wait, people eat and sleep during college?
NB still snowed in, had to cancel a couple doctor's appointments. Dunno if I'll be able to reschedule them for tomorrow either cause the plows might not have come, plus we'll have to dig through the resulting snowbank once they do.

Re: Tales of Home [7]
Shitty weather! Yesterday we got hit by a storm, rain and wind gusts from 70 to 100 mph.
It hit my bit worst between 5am and 10am- I was walking to walk through it at 6.30.
Filmed this, its just as I am cresting a hill that is the most exposed bit as the wind from sea comes right in unblocked-
And right after the storm the weather switched right round, coming from the north, and we got freeze on wet and now snow again on top of that, with another storm of rain and wind and similar wind speeds expected Monday- when once again I will be walking to work through it.

Re: Tales of Home [7]
Sorry to hear you have to keep walking through that, Petty. I hope it lets up soon.
We had some heavy flurries of snow yesterday but fortunately there was still enough salt on the roads that it didn't accumulate on them at all.

Re: Tales of Home [7]
The storms hit us hard in the south east also. The noise of the wind sounded like the crashing of an angry ocean. The rain lashed spitefully at you making your face sting. You couldnt stand upright in it let alone walk in it. All thru the night & early this morning it carried on. Its quiet at the mo but weathermen say its the lull before the storm, Weve got more coming later on

Re: Tales of Home [7]
I was out at 7AM this morning, taking mutterhound for a walk & I was surprised ( but loving it ) How quiet it was. It was like I was the only person on Earth feeling. An owl was still hooting in the trees behind me & the night sky was just waking up to a bird song dawn. Not only daffodils about but, the crocuses are out, Its getting very Springeth There's a mild breeze blowing & Im feeling quite ' Hey nonny no' Ive got an itch in me tights & it aint medical

Re: Tales of Home [7]
Those huge swings in temperature must mean it's also extremely dry. At least you'll get some proper sweat cooling.
